Zaldron Posted December 9, 2000 Well, now that Q3TA has gone gold, the whole iD team have passed to DooM production. I was looking at the Quake3world forums, and i was kinda surprised by the enormous quantity of iD guys posts. Yeah, sure, they were looking for feedback from the Quakers, cause the game is multiplayer (were the people opinion really matters). Anyway, we could expect that heavy traffic of posts once the game have passed for at least 8 months of production. Until then, the only thing we can do is to keep posting stuff (10% serious things, 90% swearing & cursing). Now my question is : were iD´s decided to put their eyes on? There´s a lot of places with DooM 3 forums, and some of them are really big. Maybe doom2000.com (don´t bother, it ins´t finished yet) will be the forum HQ. I sincerely hope that iD checks this place. The people in here are way more logical and/or smart than the rest of the DooM3 crazed crowd. In terms of design, i can honestly say that this is the best forum of all. The colors and the hierarchical system are simply great. Not really a post to reply or argue, just a comment. OK, here´s more about the topic : =============================== Yesterday i wrote a little note that Dima posted on the Quake3World forums, here´s the deal : "Now that iD have reached gold status with Q3TA, the whole team´s gonna focus on DooM development. As you probably realized, the feedback on Q3world forums provided you with a very solid advice and critic on TA evolution. Altough most of the game design (and by most i mean 99%) was iD´s idea, the community helped to craft this title to it´s very polished shape that we see today. The New DooM could be greatly enhanced with this sort of feedback. True old-school Doomers, high end Quakers and new gamers are the intended target while developing this game. So their critics about the diverse gameplay features/issues would benefit both parts. Of couse, it´s early to seek fan reactions. But when things start to grow and take shape, what forum will serve as a Feedback HQ? DooMworld? Stomped? NewDooM? DooM2000.com?, DooM3.com?" Paul Jaquays answer : "We have no current plans that I know of to open or support a Doom-only website. We have already established our objectives for the new project and will be directing our efforts that way. If you want proof, check out the messages posted near when this forum first started. Why would id want to read posts by a bunch of whiny foulmouthed cretins? Ever wonder why so many community veterans steer clear of this place?('cept Nick but he's a sucker for punishment). I'd be ashamed if someone from id read about some of the sick statements and homosexual references that abound around here. Ling and Mordeth seem to have given up entirely. Zaldron Posted December 9, 2000 Are you sure? I think iD knows how to difference between people and idiots. Commnunity veterans? what´s that? People that was here in the beggining, but left because of boredom some weeks later. There´s people here trying to spice things up a little. That´s why we swear, kill newbies and call people homosexual, we are holding up the place. There´s no news on the DooM 3 topic, and they won´t appear until several months.
