Keep in mind that this is all I could do without adding new resources to the q1wep and q2wep wads. The aren't flawlessly perfect quake1 & quake2 weapons, so don't complain. Besides, if you can do better, please be my guest! Take these deh files and do whatever.

The person who made the graphics wads in qkewep.zip wanted someone to make
deh patches to complete them. I decided to take a stab at it.
Keep in mind that this is all I could do without adding new resources to the
q1wep and q2wep wads. The aren't flawlessly perfect quake1 & quake2 weapons,
so don't complain. Besides, if you can do better, please be my guest!
Take these deh files and do whatever.

I assume you'll use legacy or zdoom to fully capture the quake1 & 2 feel,
so I didn't bother to add rocket trails.
These will work with any port, and doom2.exe as well.

QUAKE 1 WEAPONS:

(old)  : (new)                      (status bar ammo category)
fists: axe
chainsaw: axe (can only get this by cheating) (sounds like chainsaw)
pistol: shotgun, have to find shells to use it  (uses shells)
shotguns: double shotgun  (uses shells)
chaingun: nailgun, can't see nails, but functions like nailgun (uses bullets)
rocket launcher: rocket launcher  (uses rockets)
Plasma gun: thunderbolt, decent range, powerful. (uses cells)
BFG: just like thunderbolt (only by cheating)

Shell and bullet pickups have been switched around, fully compatable with
existing doom2 levels.
Sticklers for detail will probably want to make a new status bar with
NAIL instead of BULL

QUAKE 2 WEAPONS:

Fists: fists (you need a melee weapon)
Chainsaw: fists (gotta cheat to get them)
Pistol: Blaster, fires a plasma bullet (uses bullets)
Shotgun: Q2 shotgun (uses shells)
Double shotgun: Q2 double shotgun  (uses shells)
chaingun: Q2 chaingun  (uses cells)
rocket launcher: Q2 rocket launcher  (uses rockets)
Plasma rifle: Q2 super blaster (uses bullets)
BFG: Q2 bfg10k (uses bullets)

Again, sticklers will want to change the status bar. BULL = PLAS, or CELL.
                                                     CELL = BULL

You WILL want to add my q2snd.wad, because it'll just sound better. Trust me.
But it's up to you.

Okay people, I've only ever played Quake2 once. At a friend's house, for
15 minutes. That was about a month and a half ago, so I'm not sure about
the accuracy of the Quake2 patch. If you think it's horribly bad, feel
free to fix it. If not, I will update these files as I see fit.

Anyway, enjoy, and feel free to improve upon these files. They are by
no means bad right now, in fact single player is extremely fun with the
quake 1 & 2 weapons. There are no bugs in these files, unless you use the
idfa cheat, but who does that?
