Author: Steve Duff
Description: E4 style map, fast-paced gameplay.
Credits: CodeImp for the amazing Doom Builder 2, Abbs for the awesome Risen3D, and the Newstuff reviewer who discovered the HOMs, whoever you are. :)
Base: New from scratch
Build time: Took awhile
Editor(s) used: Doom Builder 2
Bugs: Bugs fixed since first release: HOMs around windows in Vanilla Doom and Eternity. Caco trap failed to work in Vanilla Doom and Doomsday because Cacos were too close to the walls and jammed the trap. This is repaired. Bugs not fixed: Main fighting area shows HOMs and/or VPOs in Vanilla Doom owing to the large number of visible sectors and 2-sided lines. Fixing this would require major surgery and I will not do it, so this is a permanent error in Vanila Doom

That was quite fun central room with monsters, even though ammo was always too low (lot's of punching later). 4/5 - Optimusx

The HOMs are visible on those windows even in ZDoom. Anyway, map looks rather decent, large areas are always + from me, but with that kind of area, you would think you get mobbed badly. The secrets were rather easy to overlook in hurry. Average in gameplay, nice in architecture.x

This is by one of the guys that worked on Realm of Chaos, a 1998 megawad made entirely by Macintosh users. It's a nice looking but totally symmetrical map where you get so much space that only hitscanners pose a a threat. There are many monsters on tall ledges that are too tedious to kill but luckily they can be easily ignored. The horizon trick is done incorrectly so in classic ports you can see HOMs in all windows. It's still kind of fun I think.x
