Description             : A high-tech sequel to Catharsis. Sorta like how Quake II was to Quake. Pretty much better in every way. More detail, bunch of new stuff, etc.

Story                   :

You heard the rumors many times before, but you never suspected they were true. People had said in whispers that a portal to some twisted dimension had been deliberately opened deep within the UAC labs, and monsters had been extracted for experimentation. But you never believed it - they were just rumors, right?

Until the portal suddenly closed. In a desperate attempt to reopen it, the scientists overpowered the portal device, which exploded and left everyone in the immediate area dead. Everyone who survived was immediately torn apart by the flood of demons that came through the massive tear in dimensions.

You and the rest of the staff managed to escape the outer base. The demons are sealed off in the inner base, but if they manage to bring down the defenses, they could pour out unhindered into the rest of the world. Since you're the only person on Mars with military training and reinforcements won't arrive for several days, you've been teleported in with a standard-issue blaster. You'll have to scrounge around for some more powerful weaponry if you really want to show those demon bastards who's boss here.

* New Things In Catharsis *

Enemies:

Cacolich - These are the demons that the UAC scientists created during experimentation with the Cacodemons. They launch balls of plasma out of their eyes and breathe fire jets.

Security Mech - The Security Mech guards the elevator to the upper UAC laboratories. If you don't  keep the hell away from this thing's laser cannons and grenades, you'll have to be carried home in a bucket. Of course, the UAC needed lots of security for its labs, so they probably have more than one of these bastards...

Weapons:

Blaster Pistol - Standard-issue for all space marines. Good to use when you're up against just an imp or two, as it uses no ammo.

Flashlight - Also standard issue for marines. It's very good at lighting up dark places and revealing things you might not have noticed otherwise. But apparently there's still no duct tape on Mars, as you can't use a weapon while wielding it.

Shotgun - Your new and improved shotgun. Blasts enemies away like nobody's business.

Charged Plasma Cannon - The experimental weapon that was being developed in the UAC Labs before the demons came. It has two firing modes; fire once for a large plasma blast, hold the trigger for smaller plasma bursts. You'll have to do a little brainwork to get it, though, as it's guarded by a special locking mechanism...
