Do you know the number of accessory files available for DOOM and
DOOM ][ online? The activity on the large online services as well
as the Internet hubs of DOOM-related materials is astonishing! At
FTP.cdrom.com, a server that can accommodate 300 (or more) users
at a time, often you cannot get anonymous access! That's where
the idea for this electronic book came along.

What you will find herein is a listing of files available for two
of ID Software's greatest creations....DOOM and DOOM ][. The
listing will actually include a systematic analysis of many of
these files. What do they do? How well do they do it? Do they
modify DOOM's system files? Do you need a $5000 dollar machine to
run them well? Where can they be found online?

The REVIEWS come from a database on the games originally written
for ELECTRIC SHORTS ONLINE a magazine for PC gaming that appears
on America Online as well as the World Wide Web (Internet).

As this is a Shareware product, you simply don't get the contents
of the entire database. For a registration fee, you receive the
full electronic book with the full database when it becomes
complete (probably by early 1996). There will also be additional
chapters in the Appendix detailing online DOOM with general
information and a long list of Internet (WWW) Sites for the DOOM-
O-phile. I am also considering making a CD-ROM available composed
of many of the files reviewed in the database. Please let me know

INSTRUCTIONS
*****

To use the E-book from either the DOS or Windows prompt, just
type EDOOM.EXE. If the files were distributed in a compressed
form you will need to decompress them into a single directory
prior to use. A floppy disk will easily house the files for the
entire program.

Once you execute the program, a title screen will be displayed.
Press any key and the menu will appear. Items can be selected by
using the arrow keys and [Enter]. The book chapters can be read
in such a fashion. [ESC] will allow you to escape from a chapter
to the main menu.

In the Shareware version, printing can only be utilized from the
REGISTRATION option. The Registered version allows printing of
each chapter for your use while online. To print (while viewing a
chapter) press [ALT]-P.

In both the Shareware and Registered versions, bookmarks will be
generated when you read from a particular chapter. When you again
go to read from such a chapter, an option will be displayed
allowing you to return to where you had left off.

That's pretty much all the instruction you need. Enjoy!
