Description: |
Crosst.wad is a new Doom level to replace E3M5. It was designed mostly
to be a single player level in the style of House of Pain, but it does
support deathmatch and co-op play. It has three difficulty levels: skill
level 2 and 1 are the same, skill 3 is fairly tough, and skill 4 should
have you hurtin' and scraping for health and ammo. :) |

First of all, I would like to thank id for developing such a great game!
Matt Tagliaferri, for writing a great editor (DoomCAD 4.2), which I used
to create this level. Also, for replying to every one of my e-mail messages
promptly and politely.
Colin Reed, for BSP11x, which I used for the nodebuilding.
And Jon and Don, for beta testing my pseudo-funtional levels and putting up
with my endless fanatical chatter about Doom. |

Bugs: |
1) some of the mosters get activated, yet I don't know how they get activated
2) one of the steps in the level has some "vertical garbage" on it.
3) there a couple places that I just could *not* get the textures to line
up correctly. |

| This is dated May 1994. It's a surprisingly good and violent level; you fight 301 baddies in a large, E3-style dungeon that's wandery enough to be entertaining but not too diffuse to get dull. The detailing is simple but imaginative. Suffers from a puzzle where you have to leap into what looks like an inescapable slime pit in order to raise a bridge (I had to look at the map in Doombuilder to work that out) but overall it's a superior map. | x | |

| Quite nice and big oldschool map. Has you running arround sometimes and opening a lot of secrets but that's the flavor of 1994 maps :). 4/5 - Optimus | x | |
