Title: House of DOOM!
Filename: levels/doom2/g-i/hod30.zip
Size: 199.66 KB
Date: 12/28/97
Author: Steve Noonan
Description: You just done taking a dump when you come out of the bathroom and (not again) monsters, everywhere! This a complete "blue print" of my house. First I was only going to have the ground floor. Then I added an outside which is realy cool because projectiles are always hitting you from outside. Then I added an upstairs and then a downstairs. This level is great for deathmatch again because of the windows. THIS IS *THE* HOUSE WAD, YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER ONE, ANYWHERE.

From the text file: "THIS IS *THE* HOUSE WAD, YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER ONE, ANYWHERE." - Probably true in 1997. This looks good for DM and made for a fun single player map, so it's a double whammy of goodness. 4.5/5 nice looks for it's age.x

I remember playing this years ago... it's a classic and it's hard at points. Looks pretty decent for the time too. Not bad. 4/5 for its time period.x

December 1997. You fight 230-odd monsters in a "my house" level, complete with a teleporting staircase but sadly without opening fridges. It's typical of the genre, but because there are more monsters than usual packed into a tight space it's decent fun. Like all such levels it gives the impression that the author's dad was a multi-millionaire, and perhaps he was.x
