Title: KALRAC2.WAD
Filename: levels/doom2/j-l/kalrac2.zip
Size: 20.09 KB
Date: 10/19/95
Author: Thomas Schrantz
Description: Narrow, twisting passageways, outside courtyards, large room with head on top of pillar of dripping blood, room set up like a library, windows overlooking courtyard. The former occupants of the house are nicely arranged in one room.
Credits: Shanna Roberts: For being thrilled about what I said about her in the information file for KALRAC.WAD
Base: New level from scratch
Build time:
Editor(s) used: DMAPEDIT 4.0.11 ß, DEU II 5.21
Bugs: None that I've noticed. You aren't supposed to be able to get to or shoot the head on the pillar of dripping blood, so that isn't a bug. Not being able to see the building behind the sky isn't a bug either. I wanted it that way.

This is dated July 1995. It's awful; incompetently designed, and hard to look at. The ceilings are too low, the passages too narrow, the sky is solid. Perhaps it was an experiment in Lovecraft-esque unholy geometry. It's a typically random-looking 1995 dungeon level, with no real gameplay and a bizarre progression (the "final battle" is a pair of mancubuses, stuck on top of each other, that you can run past).x
