Title: Legend of Zelda Dungeon #1
Filename: levels/doom2/j-l/kalrac6.zip

Author: Thomas Schrantz
Description: This level is based on the layout and design of the first dungeon of the old Nintendo game "The Legend of Zelda". I don't know why I thought of doing it, but once I thought of it, I immediately set out to make a level from it. It is a pretty accurate import of the original level, items are in the same places, all the enemies are there, etc. Even the Triforce piece is present.
Credits: Designers of "The Legend of Zelda" after which this level is based on. The Mother Superior of St. Carlos' Rectory and Home for Wayward Youth. Slim Pickens, for being a comedy genius and Southern simpleton all rolled into one. Former Governor Ann Richards of Texas.
Base: New level from scratch

Being a fan of the original Zelda, I gotta say this is pretty entertaining with Brutal DooM. I wish the rooms themselves were bigger, it feels a bit claustrophobic. Or maybe Link's really a midget. Gonna give it a 3.5 becauseusing BD's assault rifle instead of the pistol amped up the fun for me. Would be a four if there had actually been some Zelda 1 dungeon music playing. Seriously, what the fuck.x

The hardest place was when i needed to fight with lost souls. The "boss" - one mancubus near the end was relatively easy, It's not as hard as it looks like to evade its fireballs. Exit was quite original. I Didn't like texture and architecture. As I found there are 1 medikit and few things to pick up. I didn't like this wad very much. I give it 2/5x

This was an interesting idea and amusing for people who remember the original Zelda game on the NES. However, the rooms were identical and very small. If the level had bigger rooms with more environmental feelings to them, had a larger map, and offered more weapons and puzzles, it would have been more interesting. Currently, it's hard to move through the cramped rooms and using the pistol for most of the level isn't a lot of fun. Other than that, it's a novelty WAD of sorts. --Zell_1388x
