This is spiritually similar to the original, although thankfully the layout is different. The monster placement and general ambience are similar, although more lava-y. It's hard to judge, because the original E3M1 was pretty dull; this is also uninspiring, with lots of tiny cramped corridors and a fair amount of pistol shooting, but in that respect it does what it sets out to do. Not as good as id=14816 though.x

Pretty good level, nice looks, decent play albeit with a fair deal of pistol action at the start.x
