Description:	First WAD. Started July '94, finished November '94. All weapons but BFG. Spider Demon. Barneys, I mean Barons. This WAD has a distinct anti-Barney theme. For maximum enjoyment please use the Barney or Barney and Clinton patch. These important patches seem to have disappeared off the FTP sites so I include them in the ZIP file of AMBIENT. I have reached the exit in Ultra-Violent without cheating.

Anonymous	This is a dull early level with some very long corridors and one of those bits where you have a central room, and you explore corridors that branch off that room, and as you do so another corridor opens from the central room, etc. Lots of wall textures with Barney the purple dinosaur, which is meaningless to me because I am British and Barney was not a cultural phenomenon over here. Couldn't see Bill Clinton anywhere.	x

These are the years of the Tribulation.  It all started when, with a
trumpet call and a loud command the Lord called forth the His children,
living and dead.  Millions witnessed the sight of dead believers
springing out of their graves and the living and resurrected believers
together rising up into the clouds.  After that, things went downhill
fast.  The forces of hell no longer bother with their former use of
deception.  Instead, demons openly roam about killing anyone they
encounter.  A massive military deployment only aggravates the problem as
central authority breaks down and Army, National Guard and Police forces
degenerate into roving bands of desperate armed men.

Desperate for some new delusion to believe in the face of the
overwhelming evidence that Biblical Christianity is true and they are
damned, the hysterical masses in their folly turn to the worship of the
blackest and most terrible fiend of them all-- BARNEY!!!  Everywhere
billboards and posters extol the Purple False Messiah and his minions.

Secure for the moment in your survivalist enclave, you wait for some
indication that conditions will improve.  But each day the sounds of
shooting, screaming and roaring chainsaws increase, punctuated at
intervals by that terrible singing:

"I love you, you love me..."

Everyone you once cared for is dead or caught up in the rapture with
Jesus.  With all utilities and services cut off, survival is a struggle
and comfort and convenience are only a memory.  There is no honor in
clinging to life under these circumstances!  Grimly, you take your
pistol and go out into the corridors, determined to kill as many as
possible before meeting your own inevitable violent death.
