What follows is the original textfile that I included with my Doom 2 
level, the above is from a template I found at 
ftp.cdrom.com/pub/doom2/incoming/README.INCOMING

This file contains documentation for "sleepy.wad" (236,019 bytes), a DOOM 2 
level created by Michael Sager (me).

"Sleepy.wad" is an add-on file that I created for DOOM 2 on my roommate's 
computer.  I last modified it on February 20th, 1996 and I just decided to 
distribute it on the internet.  It contains one new level and a little bit of 
sound and graphics information.  The only sounds that I replaced were the 
sounds for when you get hurt and when you die, they are just sounds that I 
thought were funny.  I replaced one of the sky textures with a starry night 
sky to achieve the effect that I wanted.  Other than that I don't remember 
making any sound or graphics changes.  As far as I'm concerned, you can do 
whatever you want with the sound and graphics that I added.  I do not have 
any copyright restrictions or any such thing on this file, but please be 
courteous:

1. Feel free to distribute the level - but please distribute it along
        with this text file, or just distribute the archive (sagerwad.zip).
        2. Feel free to use any ideas that you see in my level, but give me a   
        little credit if you copy something exactly.
        3. Please do not distribute modified versions of this level - if you

Description:

The level that I created has no specific theme, but I tried to be 
somewhat original and paid a lot of attention to detail.  This is the first 
Doom level that I've made and it is, basically, the product of my 
experimentation with Doom editing.  I have to give my friend Dave credit for
the surprise in the first hallway, it was his idea - you'll see what I mean 
(actully - you won't!)  My friends who have played the level seem to think 
that it is cool; they especially like the visual effects - look what's behind 
the yellow-key door!  The level is pretty easy on difficulty 1 or 2, 
challenging on difficulty 3, and downright sick and twisted on "ultra 
violence", but I can beat it, usually in about 25 minutes.  
        I started making the level with WINDEU, and I wondered why I kept
getting texture errors in the level - I thought I was screwing up or exceeding 
some limits of the DOOM 2 game engine; then I found out that WINDEU had a bad 
node-builder (I don't know what a node-builder is either and I don't know if 
they've fixed it since).  If you use an older version of WINDEU and you have 
problems - tell it not to build the nodes and then use another node-builder 
such as BSP (worked perfectly for me.)  After a while I heard about another 
DOOM editor called DCK, and downloaded it (I used version 2.2, I don't know 
what the latest is) which has BSP built in and allows you to test levels from
within the editor, among other features.  So I finished the level with DCK - 
my point is: check out all of the DOOM editors on the internet (there are 
dozens!) and use the one you like best.

Known bugs:

1. There is a large, glowing, moving-textured tower within the outside circle
area - usually one or two thin vertical lines will appear on the screen when 
you look at it.  This is because I have a thin, more brightly lit sector 
surrounding the tower to make it look like it is glowing.  This bug is really
very minor and does not affect game play.

2. I used to have more detail in the "outside" area (crumbling walls, mostly),
but it overloaded the game at the end when you teleport to the top of the
tower.  The game didn't just overload - it crashed out to DOS and left a
message saying something about visplane overflow.  I fixed this by gradually 
removing needless details until it stopped doing this, but there's no real 
way for me to know that it doesn't need one more "visplane" taken out.  What 
this means is that there is still a chance that the level could crash at the
very end - I advise walking straight to the exit - walk around and look at the 
scenery only if you're prepared for the chance that DOOM might overload.

How to use this file:

This file only works with the registered version of DOOM 2, if I had a choice
I would have made it compatible with the shareware version, but there's no way
that I know of to do that.  Actually, I've never tried loading it into the
shareware version of Doom 2, but I've read that the shareware version doesn't
support patch files.  To use the file - put it in the same directory as DOOM
2 (usually "c:\doom2") and type " doom2 -file sleepy.wad " and have fun!
