10 Sectors Megawad

In mid August, Doomworld hosted a competition in where you had to make a single player level with 10 or less sectors in the level. Sector merging was also allowed as well. 138 wads were submitted and the top 32 got into this megawad, I spose barely missed out my brute10.wad was in 33rd place. But these top 32 levels are just amazing, exept for level 3 because it was done by Kristian Aro, just joking mate!. All 4 of my levels I submitted for this comp didn't get into the megawad, I did release them into one huge wad named one-way.wad.

Oh boy there was just some amazing levels in this megawad. I liked level 17: lord of the flies, Level 26: Aquaduct and Level 27: Gas panic. Some of the later levels were quite large you'd think they have over 200 sectors. Level 26 was HUGE!, extremley huge with over 8,000 linedefs, all with just 10 sectors and if all those sectors were unmerged in level 26 I reckon there would be easily over 1000. Infact Levels 6-8, 13-32 were the ultimate masterpieces, Level 32 (really level 17) looked like a giant honeycomb when viewed from the automap, and was like a huge maze. There was some texture misalignments on Level 9 and I wished my level should have been in its place. All the levels were extremly hard as well, with lots of raging Chaingunners and Zombies. Amazing, Level like 16, 18,22,23 26, 30 were all id quality, with just 10 friggin sectors, amazing!. There is no normal exit in level 15, it takes you to 31 then 31 to 32 then to 16.

A lot of the sectors in this megawad are merged, incuding the doors and lifts, so if you go and open a door it will be silent because all the other doors in the level are the same sector for example. There is a good use of Boom features in some levels like Monsters using silent teleporters and shallow water effects.

What eles I have to say, this 10 sectors megawad was a masterpiece, Being a 10 sectors megawad with each level having 10 or less sectors, I'm going to give it the full 10 sector score, but wait. Since we lost by 1 point today 10 -1=9, Damn!
