Review - Sacha
Bruised is one big, tough level. As the name suggests, after finishing this level (if you manage to finish it) your poor little marine will indeed be very sore and sorry for himself. In the author's own words "only the most skilled and determined players will finish it without cheats". Despite being rather difficult, at times Bruised is also rather confusing. Before you even manage to get one of the keys, you have to go through a rather long and winding maze, with countless tricks and traps. Besically, you can't go more than about 10 doom paces before some monster pops out of hidden wall beihnd you, and sets about pummelling you into the ground.  Bruised seems to have a rather non-linear structure. There are numerous parts that you don't have to go through in order to finish the level. However, many of these optional parts
contain weapons that will make finishing the level a hell of a lot easier. The texture use in Bruised is also sometimes confusing. There are numerous doors that don't look like they should be doors, ie - general wall texture use instead of a normal door texture.  Overall, though, the stand out factor in Bruised is its
unrelenting action and plentiful monster fights, although they will be too difficult and too numerous for most. However, if you do decide to give this wad a go, be prepared to save at every opportunity, because there are monsters lurking around every corner just waiting to mow you down. Oh, and if you are a beginner, then I wouldn't bother...
    Overall: 7/10
