Review - Michael
The AcidHell levels in many ways resemble the original Doom1 style of level making. Simple style, use of bright textures and a rather linear type level structure. I must say however, that the author really does demonstrate his level making ability with these two rather neat and well structured levels. When you
glance at the map its easy to see that the author has spent a great deal of effort in perfecting the map. Most rooms, corridors and even pillars seem so compact and orderly. There were also some random looking areas which weren't linear and square like. The acid rivers, water lake and the occasional bridge are good examples which I noticed were more random and natural looking, which in my opinion is good, as you really don't want a level that is totally linear. As the name suggests these levels do have a fair
amount of acid in them. However don't be alarmed, as when I played I found that it was quite easy to avoid most of the acid without taking damage. The positioning of ammo and monsters throughout both
levels seemed pretty fair. Instead of using an abundant amount of monsters, the author utilises heaps of traps and secrets to make things harder for the player. Nearly all traps that you activate occur in areas you've already been before. Oh yeah, I nearly forgot to mention that there was a secret which I had find in order to finish the first level. In the editor it actually isn't defined as a secret, but to me it easily qualifies as a secret. It was sooo hard to find. I recommend this level to people who aren't that good at Doom. If you're good, then you will breeze through these levels. Not too hard on UV. Only things that will probably stop you are the numerous buttons you have to press in order to open everything. I found this to be quite confusing.

HIGHS : Neat looking levels. Nice and realistic lighting effects. Numerous acid rivers which look great. Good balance of ammo and monsters.
LOWS : Numerous buttons which activate things at far off locations, which means you don't know what you've activated until much later. Difficult to know what to do next. Lack of Doom2 atmosphere. Neccesity in finding a secret like wall before being able to finish level 1.
    Overall: 7.5/10
