Review - Chief
Factor X is a Doom level trilogy by Phil K, and in this case the best way to introduce the level is to quote directly from the text file if you don't mind...

An action packed trilogy for the seriously doomed. Hack, blast, slice, fry, rip, mow, evaporate etc your way through the nazi factory zone to the gateway to freedom.

I'm sure the author would agree that these levels are not the best ever in terms of architectural design and texture alignment.  The levels are quite simple and at times squarish.  Texture alignment seemed non existent with blatant misalignments in some areas.  So if the detail of the levels was very low, it would be up to the gameplay to save the wad from Team Insanity's How Not to Make Wads section.

And luckily, the gameplay is very good.  Factor X does indeed live up to the author's 'Action packed' claims, but I was never able to 'evaporate' any monsters :-)  After the first two imps, you can tell the levels are going to be loaded with monsters - most of them appearing from trapdoors etc.  Weapon and ammo placement was adequate, with usually a tough enough weapon to use, with a steady supply of ammo.

On Ultra Violence a lot of doomers are going to struggle to complete Factor X without dieing on numerous occasions - mainly as a result of the numerous traps etc.  Although in some places you are warned of the upcoming dangers with sign textures.

Do not expect a nice looking level - because as I said, you're not going to get it.  But there is some decent gamplay beneath the surface which made the levels fun to play.
     Overall: 5/10
