Happy new year (christmas went by already) and don't forget to get my christmas present XMasDM -98 from My levels section!
Someone with name "Flamer (how original) signed to my guestbook and told
me that my levels suck, because they have so much bugs... This guy was chicken enough
to not leave his e-mail address, so here's my reply to him in public:
Dear Flamer (hehehe)There's a new version of glDooM and also a new 3dfx optimised beta version of DooMLegacy! Unfortunately I don't yet have the Glide drivers for running 3dfx legacy, so I can't comment it yet, as it doesn't run at all on my machine yet, but as soon as I get it working I'll tell you if it's good or bad (In My Opinion of course).
You say that my levels have bugs, but I don't see any! Could it be that you haven't even seen them and you just wan't to flame me? Or could it be that your stupid enough to not read the text files that come with them and your trying to run them with normal DOOM2.EXE? I dunno... I can't see to your sick mind, but may I remind you that BaseDM -series is for BooM only and even XMasDM -98 needs some source port to run or it shows a horrible amount of HOM's. Now spammer, if you have balls to answer to my questions, feel welcome to! I'm waiting for your mail to me!
I don't wan't to brag about it, but may I notice that my level editing skills has gotten me to TeamTNT, and I say that you don't get to TeamTNT if your levels are full of bugs!
- Sir Robin
Notice that all level review screenshots are now taken with glDooM or 3dfx version of DooMLegacy unless they need a source port that doesn't support 3d-accelerated graphics!
There's also a new kickass version of ZDooM which just became my current favorite source port, because of it's new massive features, like the HeXeN style scripts! Too bad that you need a HeXeN level editor if you wan't to use all ZDooM's features... Most of them cannot be used with normal DooM 2 editor.
New releases of some old PE4Mx levels came to cdrom.com, so I re-reviewed them... The
major difference seems to be that they are now harder than before... Here are the re-reviewed
levels:

I'm a bit late, but I have a christmas present for the whole DooM community! I made a very
detailed snow castle deathmatch level for you to enjoy! Icy textures, perfect texture
alignment and everything! Works with all popular source ports (actually not tested with
DosDooM, but I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work)! So go get it from
My levels section now! It's called XmasDM -98!

200 REVIEWS FINALLY THERE!
My birthday was on Monday 21st! Now I'm 19 years old!
FUCK WAR! FUCK BILL CLINTON! Ok, So Saddam is a motherfucker, and a bad one too, but that doesn't give Bill Clinton right to bomb innocent civil peoples! What would happen if I would kill a nazi that would try to stab me with a knife? I would go to jail! What happens when Bill kills several innocent civils? Nothing! There's something badly wrong with this world!
Last weekend I bought a big bag of grass (oh come one, you know what I mean), and at best I was pretty high... A lot nicer than being drunk... No hangover, no bad feelings, no aggressive peoples... Just me, few friends, sofa and a big pipe :)
Ok, I got working MESA drivers for glDooM and I was able to take screenshots. If you have a
3dfx card, you can download MESA drivers from glDooM
homepage. There's one problem with the screenshots though... Blue and red colors
are swapped, so the picture doesn't look right... I coded a small 32-bit dos program
to quickly fix a screenshot files colors, but it came obsolete... You can open those
.TGA files that glDooM produces as RAW files in Paint Shop Pro with following settings:

Oh... I added "Picture of Update" to this front page... That picture will change every time
I update... Hell, if the major sites can do it, I can too! The first shot is from old Quake
level by me that never got finished... Someday I might just finish it :)
You can email me pics and suggest them to be shown, but I won't promess to show your
screenie.
The Quake level that I'm working on now (Mansion Of Death) is coming along just fine... I think I solved the GLQuake blue/gray dots on screen problem... I found out the reason for it, and honestly it doesn't make any sence to me... Well, maybe it's a bug in Qbsp program...

HELP NEEDED! Someone who knows enough about Quake editing, please tell me what's wrong with my level when I run it on GLQuake and get a lot of annoying blue/gray dot's on the screen while I move around? Here's a screenshot of it. Please, if you know it, then email me at robin@doomnation.com and I'll be ever thankful! Btw, the editor is WorldCraft 1.6a shareware.
I have a rant about Macintoshes too... Actually it's a defense rant against DooM Forever's Mac rant.
Phew... 7 more reviews and I have 200 done! Is that great or what?
