Qboard Doom2 SP wad (DooM 2) ****
3 levels, graphics.
Made by:
Biff Debris (homepage),
Lunaran (homepage) &
Aardappel (homepage).
Interesting WAD, this was kinda retro project of many Quake mappers but only three of them managed to make a level (I guess the other ones wussed out when they realized what DooM editing is like). I'm sure those three who managed to produce levels enjoyed a lot of the freedoms provided by DooM engine which of course is superior to Quake (lol). Anyway, the first level is very DooMish but the interesting part is that you dont get more than pistol and chainsaw I think (or then I missed it...). The second level is made 100% using Quake 2 textures converted to DooM and they convert quite well to DooM's palette and seems like Quake 2 style can well be imported into DooM. Of course the good old DooM weapons and monsters make it feel more like DooM than Quake 2, but it certainly has some Quake 2 feeling in it and it's a detailed and challenging level too. Third level is the most challenging level of them all and made pretty much in base style that seems to be infulenced by DooM episode 1 and DooM 2 styles. I noticed some minor texture aligment bugs in third level but mainly it's one damn well done level with challenging fights and even nice puzzles too. Definately a good WAD, if not for other reasons download it to see how Quakers do DooM maps :)

Quake's E1M7 (ZDooM + DooM 2) ****
1 level.
Made by Rick Clark.
A recreation of Quake's level E1M7 (The boss enemy in first episode)... Very small level, and doesn't look very much like original Quake E1M7, but it's rectangle shaped level with lava pool in the middle and when you pick up a thing in front of it, the boss enemy (arch-vile) comes out, and is killed just the same way as in Quake... Since the boss enemy happens to be Arch-Vile, it will be harder to stay away from it's attacks that it was in Quake... My guess is that this level is more a showdown of what you can do with ZDooM than a real level, but it's still a very nice experience :)
