Theory about Samuel Hayden

Recommended Posts

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but on Sentinel Prime when you get to the Divinity Machine and have the memory flashback with the Hooded Figure (the Wretch maybe?), as he directs the Slayer into the machine he says something that Samuel Hayden said to the Slayer at the end of the 2nd level ResOps in 2016; "Take this, it will give you strength, help you on your journey" in the exactly same way.. Left me thinking if the Hooded Figure and Samuel Hayden are the same character! Would explain how Hayden knows so much about the Slayer actually! Maybe when the original Samuel Hayden of UAC died and transferred his consciousness into the robot was fake and the Wretch is posing as Hayden with his essence inside the robot..

Just a thought. What do you think? :)

Yeah the going theory is that Hayden is Samur the Seraphim (and Vega is the Father). Seems to fit, but might fit too easily.

He also mentions to the Slayer "your people" and also talks about being unhappy with the Khan's leadership direction

Yeah, seems that Vega is the Father too, because I thought I heard in Urdak when Vega was attached to the machine that it mumbled something like "the Father, re-integrated into the system" or something. It was a very nice plot twist after the Divinity Machine that gave me goosebumps. :)

EDIT. I guess we might learn more about that in the DLC's!

He said "Am I... the Father?"

Cool, thanks. I only heard it mumbly but was able to get the father part so tried to figure out what he said so good to have clarification, thanks :)

Also can't deny the similarity between the two names: Samur and Samuel. With the multiple connections they have to be the same person/intrinsically related somehow

there are also things called red herrings :)

My only issue with this is that Samuel was clearly a human before he got put into his robot body.

As far as I know, it’s never established that the Maykrs have some sort of shapeshifting ability that would've allowed Samur to appear human.
