Good-Old Posted April 17, 2020 (edited) Standard Win 7 wallpaper cause I like it (not kidding). If there wasn't a default Windows wallpaper I would have used a Doom based wallpaper. Also I think having a girl as a wallpaper is a shitty idea. Wallpapers are better as landscapes/whatever other people have posted here. Phobus Posted April 17, 2020 (edited) I've been using this one for years and years. The Icons are organised into groups (the gap in the left-hand group is because the free-from-Epic-Games-Store-today Just Cause 4 is installing still) based on whether I've not played them, have played them but not finished, am going to start playing them soon, am actively playing them, might replay them, have them around to carry over "old save bonuses" to the sequel and have them around so my girlfriend can play them. Plus, there's a lot of black space, so it may as well be filled with icons for games I've got installed. 4 Share this post Link to post

SaladBadger Posted April 17, 2020 (edited) I feel the landscape stuff is rather cliched, but it does the job for an image I almost never see. No desktop icons for the same reason. (click for source) 8 Share this post Link to post
Fuzzball Posted April 17, 2020 Since I downloaded a boatload of backgrounds for my stream to cycle through randomly I have amassed a bit of a collection- many are abstract, fractal or just nice to look at, nothing too busy. I also change my keyboard colours to match too! This one is my current one~ 2 Share this post Link to post

Zdzislaw Beskinksi was an amazing, untrained artist, and he made some of the most surreal, unnerving, and well done painting I've ever seen. How he did it, I really don't know. But he said that he would have horrible dreams, and wake up and painted what he saw. And judging by his paintings, I believe him. I adore this man's art. Dariusz Zawadzki is another similar to his that features unsettling themes with a more sci-fi portraiture take. 1 Share this post Link to post

I just did a quick image search for Dariusz, and yeah, I'm going to have to look more closely at his work. Thank you for the suggestion, I'd never heard of him before now. Eastern Europeans seem to have an amazingly bleak view on the world. And probably rightfully so. 1 Share this post Link to post
DoomKrakken Posted April 17, 2020 (edited) My current background. Many years ago, I saved a bunch of sci-fi images from DeviantArt that would make for nice backgrounds and inspiration for Doom levels or levels for other games. This one I liked especially, because it's a sci-fi base in the midst of a mountain range. I love the whites and blues here, and it'd be great to have a Doom level that'd explore what this base would look like on the inside. :D Come to think of it, it feels a bit more like Ed Cripps's Valhalla and Putrefier maps, but colder and more active. I also got some Vanquish vibes from this, at least in terms of ambience. 1 Share this post Link to post

DoomKrakken Posted April 18, 2020 Oh, here's another background I used... it's called "The Defenders". I had it because it reminded me of a character I came up with but never drew, known as "The Steel Seraph". 1 Share this post Link to post

valkiriforce Posted April 18, 2020 Laptop background - I've had this wallpaper since 2013 when we found a box of photos including a bedroom view from our old home in Oceanside, California. Desktop background - this time an old park I used to visit every once in a while. 7 Share this post Link to post
