kwc Posted November 29, 2020 Think I actually managed to make a doory door. Also happened upon a nice paletted greenish-brown while messing around.. 27 Share this post Link to post
elend Posted November 29, 2020 That's a superbly crafted door. Like it a lot! 2 Share this post Link to post
gman829 Posted December 2, 2020 I'm gonna make a sky texture of the paramount mountain lol. Maybe the Windows XP Bliss background too. 0 Share this post Link to post
Man of Doom Posted December 3, 2020 Spoilered as these are large images. You're more than welcome to make textures out of these (which is why I posted these here in the first place): Spoiler 0 Share this post Link to post

kwc Posted December 5, 2020 Some cute floor graphics.. And a bonus wall overlay that I have no idea how I want to paint, if anyone wants to mess with it, go for it. 13 Share this post Link to post

Gez Posted December 5, 2020 (edited) 13 hours ago, kwc said: And a bonus wall overlay that I have no idea how I want to paint, if anyone wants to mess with it, go for it. A few uses on unadorned Doom textures: At this point I'm a bit annoyed by the dissymmetry: there's a sharp bevel line at the bottom, but not at the top. So I made a tweak: And another that tones down a bit the relief on the lower part, because it was a bit excessive with some textures: GRAY junk for borders and STONE for inner area This actually uses both the original overlay and the first tweaked one. It exaggerates a bit the highlights but I liked how it looked. And now, a big bunch of textures. I borrowed Doom textures from my doom_complete.pk3 "IWAD" so there's some Plutonia stuff, and from lostres_v2.1 so there's discarded stuff too. Shawn/silver/compblue junk: The circuit pattern used in the last three above comes from Enjay. Gray/concrete/stucco/metal/wood/other city junk: Marble junk. Skin junk: Should be enough for now. 20 Share this post Link to post

kwc Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) @DooMAD @Gez @LoneAlpha2401 Ahh, I love you guys. Huge grin on my face seeing these. Thanks for the criticism, Gez, I'll try and keep symmetry in mind a bit more when working on walls. Been working away on some fun quick floor tile things in the mean time, nothing too stunning but easy to work with. 11 Share this post Link to post
Gifty Posted December 7, 2020 I REALLY like those craggly brick tiles with the wide grout. Nice and chunky, and the tiles really pop. 2 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted December 9, 2020 You know about the old Xbox intermission background picture? I figured it could make a nice texture if applied on a Doom material. Like the demon portraits or those ghostly skulls. This kind of picture is hard to put on Doom marble. I'm not entirely happy how it turned out. Didn't work much better on skin. So I was a bit surprised how well it worked with SHAWN. I guess it's because I felt I could get away with changing the color? Let's try combinations. Okay, they're not all winners. 24 Share this post Link to post

Makes sense, right? Mostly I liked the molding and thought it could fit a techy door, but I don't really like the result, the photo-origin parts don't blend well with the pixel art bits borrowed from Doom doors, despite my efforts at massaging the color range and mixing it in with some SHAWN. 4 Share this post Link to post

I actually quite like this. I just think the main design needs to be more symmetrical and it'd be a solid win from me. (As in the main graphic you used should be mirrored horizontally) 0 Share this post Link to post

URROVA Posted December 11, 2020 so im making a map with the textures made by Gez with the kwc overlay, and i made some nooby tekwall variants. So there are: 6 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted December 11, 2020 (edited) Not bad! I'd suggest adding just a line or two of darkness to the top of tech part to help sell the idea they're "behind" the stone part. The effect is subtle -- it doesn't have to be strong -- but I find that it helps. 7 Share this post Link to post
ViolentBeetle Posted December 11, 2020 There should be a community project using various textures posted here. Especially weird and awkward to use ones. 3 Share this post Link to post

brinks Posted December 12, 2020 Here are some rocks I made and/or edited ages ago. Mostly some "Baby's First Photoshop" level shit and I can't vouch for how good they look in game, but perhaps somebody can find use for 'em. 11 Share this post Link to post
NeoWorm Posted December 13, 2020 I wanted to do something for Heretic, but it ended up looking more DooMy and not as what I intended. So... here it is, Use this however you want. 6 Share this post Link to post
kwc Posted December 14, 2020 (edited) Here's a bunch of basic stuff.. Edit: Some more basic support textures in lieu of double-posting.. @NeoWorm I really like how you nailed the hand-made look on those stone textures. They do look a bit techy in design, but maybe they'd be useful in an ancient-scifi type heretic wad, or a nifty secret room? Edited December 16, 2020 by kwc 10 Share this post Link to post
