DevTex [v0.01] Texture Pack Release Thread

Certainly some scope for that in future. When I first played around with these a while ago I did a lot of different colours. Currently focusing on the orange and grey though, simply because that's what the main colour of the Valve originals. All of these are generated from a master PSD file, so doing new colours is just a case of exporting everything again.

Note that if you want more variety in dev textures, there are other packs available. There's BlackFish's set here and the one @Remilia Scarlet compiled for the graybox project.

 

It's funny even textures supposed to be extremely basic manage to have different graphic styles.

Remember seeing these ages ago, I made these ones because I was looking for dev style textures for Doom and BlackFish's just didn't scratch the itch for me. Still pretty cool though.

A few texture ideas that might be of use for this pack:

  • Abstract demon face representation and maybe some other broad theme signifiers
  • Light sources (Since mapper would like to remember where lights are)
  • Exit sign

I can't exactly draw anything decent myself, although somewhere down the line I hope to make a map out of your textures.

All good ideas, I've had a couple of ideas RE Demons, will have to add them to the to-do.
