It'll get there, just needs more time. Sadly these things can and do happen. Just don't burn yourself out on it! I know I've only got one map in the first part, but if it takes another week or so to see the finished project that's fine with me.

Take it easy. I believe in you. I highly recommend trying to learn how to put the wad together yourself, especially being the project lead. I didn't know how to compile maps with different texture resources until yesterday. I took it on just to learn something new. I have no plans to further update the compilation I fixed, but I do allow Dubbag and anyone assisting him to use it as a base.

It took me two hours to fix textures not appearing in certain maps and make the archive look organized. Thirty minutes of those two hours were figuring out how to add patches that used a combination of wall textures. Thankfully, only a few maps used custom textures in the first part. I dived into the editor, play test map01 in PRBoom+, Skip levels until I immediately see a hall of mirror effect, then get to work on fixing the textures.

The archive file size can be reduced drastically, because not all textures from cc4 and ogre are being used. The few maps that used custom textures all required patches. As much as I like to keep file size optimal. It's the year 2021, and people can afford 15 megabytes of space on their hard drive. Unless someone really wants to manually delete 1000+ cc4 textures.

@Dubbag Hope you get some good sleep, man. Don't stress out about this, it's just doom! We'll get this thing together one way or another. I don't have experience compiling map sets like this, but I'm happy to see if I can figure it out and help with compiling part 2. (For now, I'm going to order the maps by the order of submission since I haven't played most of them yet. Also going to leave Pueblo to include with part 1 for the time being -- but can change this if we want a different 32nd map for part 1.) I'll post an update later tonight with how this goes.

I fixed the map order a bit: moved some hard stuff to ep 3, most techbases are now in ep 1 and most hell-maps in ep 3. I moved @rd.'s map to slot 32, as it was planned initially. I added one of my other maps instead, so there are now exactly 32 maps in part 1.

I added a secret exit on maps 15 and 31. 

Fixed some weird blockmap thing on map 8 and a hom on 25. 

I'm quite surprised by the overall difficulty of these maps. It was a bit hard to find easy maps for ep 1 :)

Okay, I kind of had a medical emergency and so am not sure whether I'll be able to work on this any more tonight (or when I'll be available next), but I figured I'd post what I have for the second part before I am potentially unable to. The WAD should work okay (I tested it a bit), though I haven't had time to test it more thoroughly. If there are any issues with it, anyone is welcome to edit it further.

MAP06 is completely broken for me. It might just be GZdoom, but I finished the whole wad just from map06 somehow. Also, map11 might be a good secret level. Other than that, no issues. The sky on mine actually works really well, even though it's different.

Fortunately, I'm doing okay now (thanks @Crock Wilson). I haven't had a chance yet to actually play through all the maps, but I at least ran through them all on PrBoom+ to check for any texture issues. Couldn't find any issues on my end. @Engired I think I resolved the problem with map 6 for GZDoom - updating the file now. Tomorrow I will swap out map 11 for Pueblo and then move what is currently map 11 to the map 31 slot. If anyone else finds any issues with part 2, let me know!

My untitled map is currently sitting in both wad files (I added it to the first one because I moved something to slot 32). I'd prefer it to be in the second half, so some replacement fod it is needed (on map slot 18). 

It seems like we have only 61 maps in compilation so I guess we are missing some maps (or miscalculated the total number of maps)

I doubt we miscalculated. I have a list, and I have double checked it. I think we're missing some.

The title music also needs to be replaced. Other than that, it should be good.

I noticed that in my map (Zin's Cathedral) that this texture (ROCK9) was replaced by another texture

wow guys woke up this morning. and saw all the help u guys are giving me. Im really humbled by ur guys support. Thank u to every one for helping fix this. Doomworld community rules! When everything is fixed and part 2 is compiled I will start a new thread and release both at once on the same thread. Once again thank u so much my friends it's a pleasure working with u guys!

I updated Part 2. Added Anti-UVMAX and Pueblo to it, so it's now up to 32 maps. I settled on I COMPBLU myself and Archvile-Jump Miniwad for the two secret maps, but let me know if you think other maps would be better for slots 31 and 32. Also happy to reorder the maps if we want to. Again, let me know if you find any issues!

So... I made something. I kind of overestimated my abilities at this so it's more like a 90-minute map than 30-minute, but anyway here it is:

Title: Latrodectus Geometricus

Music: midi from SF2012 map30 by Ribbiks (what else could it be???)

Build time: 90-120 minutes.

 

Will add some difficulty settings later.
