Fractured Worlds is pretty tough, especially for map05. But it's rather short so at least we can hope.

(I remember the last few maps from resurgence are kinda brutal(in comparison))

Resurgence is only slightly more difficult than SoD so i dont see why he wouldnt be able to tackle it

I thought he already reviewed Sunlust.

Not sure why the first level was named "In Defence of Demonsex" but it seemed like a legit review to me.

I dunno man. I found it pretty entertaining but I'm also a bit of masochist when I'm playing doom. But I do have to say I freaking love it when a mapper finally dares to try to fuck over the players at the end of megawad.

Fucking same here.

Part of the reason why the Hell Revealed duology is one of my personal faves lol

I couldn't agree more.

I am glad the Dean is leading the charge on the icon of sin hate force. Such a flaccid way to end any megawad. Also, is the Delinquent voiced by him too, because dang he's got serious range if he is, sounds nothing like his normal voice.

My guess is it's a younger brother. It's very impressive if that's him too.

Sorry, friend :(

Why the apology? Went a bit overboard telling people to skip these maps maybe?

Just played them both yesterday. Totally undeserved pan IMHO.

I dislike maps, not people. And no, I didn't go overboard, I said exactly what I wanted to say.

So you’re telling me the B- you gave Rowdy Rudy 1 doesn’t reflect how you feel about me as a person?

DK, don't fish for compliments, you know you're an A+!

Looking forward to the civil war that starts once you release a comprehensive mapper ranking

That's too bad. Some people can actually show a little remorse when the say something that's, well, dickish.

Not one of your best moments.

Caught up with this fellow's reviews, heavily biased but entertaining overall, then got to where he panned Hazmat Hazama. Lost all credibility there, sorry.

He revised it to a A- in the season end video.

Biased in what way?  I've watched a fair number of the videos and haven't detected any sign of an agenda or ulterior motive.  None of the criticisms seem to be made in bad faith from what I can see, whether or not I agree with them. So curious what you're referring to?

I don't suppose you'd like to enlighten us by providing a detailed explanation of this supposed agenda MtPain27 is pushing in his review, mate?

The slime waterfall agenda, of course.

'Biased' in the sense that he heavily favors a certain kind of map, as it should be - perhaps excessively so in my opinion but whatever.

If my choice of wording was not perfect - my deepest apologies for not being born a native English speaker. Can't be perfect I guess, no need to get feisty and confrontational over it.

I agree with lokk here. We don't all have to agree, as MtPain himself says.

I think it's the best YT show Doomdom's got at the moment, honestly, but that doesn't mean that I won't take it with a grain of salt. There's no universal measure for quality and difficulty.

Yeah sorry if I came across as confrontational, fam, but whenever I see somebody say a review is "biased" they usually don't seem to fully grasp what that word even means, especially when they don't explain what they mean. Could you elaborate a little more on what you mean by "favouring a certain map" and other things you perceive as bias on MtPain's part? Not trying to start a fight or anything, I'm genuinely curious.

He *seems to me* like he has a heavy lean toward maps with a very traditional, 'action trumps all' gameplay, which I only partially agree with as I privilege architecture and atmosphere. Might very well just be my perception though.

I am also not a fan of the 'ranking culture' in general, it's a personal peeve of mine I don't expect others to agree with.

i've actually noticed him preferring the more atmospheric stuff; his love of the chasm kinda says it all in that regard

Okay, these are fair things to disagree on, but I wouldn't really call them "biased" as @Bauul pointed out, the word means to suggest an agenda or ulterior motive behind the work. Given English is indeed your second language, we can of course excuse you for simply using the wrong word. Don't worry though, lad, it's something that even English speakers fuck up a lot from what I've seen hence my original annoyance found in my other post. ;^) :^P

I thought it was a bit of a waste of time that every video starts with the boilerplate text about viewers may not agree with his rankings and that's okay because this is just for fun anyway.

Now I see he should put that bit not just at the beginning of the video, but also at the start of each map segment and again before the class summary at the end.
