John Wheel memorial [now at /idgames]

A nice, restrained tribute, moody atmosphere and great MIDI choice.

I stayed one minute in front of "the tombstone" to pay respects to this man.

Damn... I'm really sorry. I knew him too, even though we hadn't interacted a lot in recent years. It's heartbreaking to get these news now. He will be missed.

As for the map, it's a really nice small map, definitely focused on the architecture of the memorial. Some surprises await this little map though for the unprepared.

Great map and a great tribute. I never knew him but I can tell from the reactions here that he was loved and will be missed.

My condolences to you and to the people closest to John. I tried the map and the environment and everything is well done, thus being a tribute to someone with whom one shared many things. It gives you that kind of feeling.

I dont know when i will be able to play this map but I am absolutely going to. My condolenses to everyone who knew and loved the man. I feel this is a great idea for a tribute and would like to do my small part to contribute by playing the map in his honor. Thank you very much and you know what... I'll download and play it right now.

I often say that I can tell what a player is thinking just by looking at their gameplay. In this case, I can also feel it. Thanks you too Fadri. 

I did not know John, but this is a really elegant, understated and tasteful way to pay tribute to somebody. His memory will live forever now though, in this little world you created. I'd be lying if I said I'm not moved at the sight of it, even as a stranger. I'm sorry for your loss. 

It surprised me a little, but some people stopped by today to chat and to hit a few shots. Was nice.
 

I've now played through, and I have to say this is beautiful, Rata. I can see the visual and even combat style of Alien Vendetta shine through. Even though I didn't know him, this was really touching. The mournful midi (one of my favorites used in AV) was also an excellent touch. An elegant map, may John rest in peace.

Take my condolences, I just played on the TSPG server and searched up the name. That is a really nice way of tribute to your friend and even tho i didn't know him, I'm sure he would've loved this map. Great work man.
