Doomcute thread

Doomcute is cute because the sectors aren't very furniture-shaped, but they're doing their best. Using actual 3d models is more like... doomhandsome.

Something I'm working on ATM 

That's 4 3d floors created in UDB, then exported as obj and placed as a thing. Saves having to align textures, and you don't cut into your structures. You can put them anywhere and even use them to put pickups on them, or climb on them. Or push them if you want.

The chair was created in ultimate doom builder, out of sectors. Exporting is as a model doesn't change that fact. It just makes my life easier. ; D

 I agree with this sentiment, the abstraction is what makes it "cute" in my opinion. That being said, I don't mind viewing some "doomhandsome" (doomhot?) alongside my doom cute

Thank you for your interest!. It has never been officially released. Once TNT:Foreverlution is done, I intend to come back to this and get a beta going, but as of right now it isn't officially available. If you wish, I could send you a beta. There are 7 maps. Otherwise, I will go back to work on it.

 

@Fernito Thanks so much for playing/playtesting this little project, and thanks for the great feedback.

I'm working on a map with "weaponised doomcute" as a gimmick. I give the player a single radiation suit at the start and send them to a level with no enemies but a lot of damaging floors and a ton of things to stop and look at.

Oh thelamp is playing Heroe's Tales? Great wad, that's actually one of my favorite levels from it too. I'm a sucker for a good spaceship design, and I'm even more impressed that it was a speedmap.

Yup! Been playing it on my youtube! No surprised that a speedmap set built on tnt.wad has lotsa great doomcute :)
