Day 3: ? (@SilverMiner said that this is from "Descent", but I am not sure)

I dunno why you're not sure. This is Briefing music heard in Descent II

Very nicely done, I hope you plan to add more maps! I noticed a few problems along the way:

MAP02: I chose a "wrong" path after start, I went to the fatso/hellknight alley first. Then I completely run out of ammo when cacodemon and elemental appeared. Fortunately, they didn't follow me and I could find the secret chainsaw. Still, I think you could redistribute the ammo somehow.

MAP04: Sky texture is cutting away view to zombiemen around the entrance and exist, see the screenshot.

And... it would really help if the intermission texts were rewritten by a native English speaker.

Small & humble update of few things:

📒 Changed texture of bathrooms on day 0, since I feel that these rooms may have some kind of special doors for them.

📗 Added 3 shotgun shells ammunition into the accessible areas of day 1. It isn't that much, but I hope that it can make your day a less bitter.

📒 On day 3 I added a small crook stick for poor Zombiemans on the cliffs. They gonna act more chaotic now, but also gonna avoid that dirty skyhack.

I  like city theme in Doom, so this totally suits my taste.

Best levels in my opinion are 2 and 4. First level is really simple(but totally fine). Second one is sweet, compact, every area has a distinct look and a purpose, really tight. Level 3 is alright, I like trains in doom(and in videogames in general), this one seems to be a recreation of Blood train level but without second floor, which is also good, Blood is cool, but gameplaywise this level is really simple, I mean, it's a train, you move forvard and shoot monsters. Level 4 is also great, full of sexy as hell doomcute(bania i pechka osobenno krutie :) ), bfg tease is pure evil though. Level 5 is fine, but kinda feels like a clean up duty, you go through all buildings, and kill mostly harmless opposition.

I guess this levels have a classic issue with realistic environments in doom, gameplay suffers a little bit, all combat setups here are straitforward and simple, but I don't think it is universally bad, nice episode on the easier side, really enjoyed it, will wait for updates :)

I will echo the sentiment that the gameplay suffers. It does. Does that matter?

Depends on the player. I personally really liked it for what it is, a cute set of urban realistic levels. I liked the cramped, completely unfit for 60mph Doomguy areas, areas where the Demons got stuck all the time due to geometry as well. I liked the general "Last man on Earth" vibe that these kinds of levels give off.

I liked the small apartments - gives off an impression of a poor comunity before the Demon invasion. Either that or they are student quarters. What did you model the apartments on?

All buildings was made up just from scratch w/o any major references.

Maybe some images was on my mind at some point, but entire things has no real-life prototypes.
To be honest, I am gonna be very surprised if someone gonna find similarity of my buildings with structures from our world.

Hey, congrats on the release! I played an early version of this but wasn't able to record it, so it's probably better that I waited a bit longer. Can't wait to take your maps for a spin!

A "cumulative update" with some small bugfixes here & there:

📒 Fixed wrong texture alignment of the kitchen table on day 0.

📒 On day 1 I moved further away one "cage" with monster (since it was too close and can be heard), fixed alignment of textures in secret room and moved a bit textures of chairs in the club (it is more consistent now).

📒 On day 2 dangerous chairs from wagon-restaraunt was moved away from the corners, so it is impossible to get stuck here (I hope). Also "third" 32x grey crate was revamped a but to hide its hideousness.

📒 On day 4 the texturing of small cabinet in the store's manager office was fixed, some ceilings of door frames was changed in the luxurious apartments and elevator shaft in cheap apartments has revamp of one of its walls.

That was damn well made. Love the creative use of assets and textures.

And of course i had to check the train level ^^ - Also darn impressive, love it. Allthough the walltextures of the surrounding terrain didn't scroll for me which made it look weird.

@Sinnesloeschen Can I know which exact source-port you are used? I mean... Name and version.

If it is GZDoom below 4.8.2, then it can have some problems with MBF21 compatibility, like not working player blocking flags and not working scrolling textures as well.

Yepp, that was it. ^^ I'm still on GZDoom 4.6.something.

I started a small series combining Urban Crusade and Hardboiled Spetsnaz today, and I must say, the combo turned out pretty great! The more realistic design means you usually have enough cover between reloading and firing if you have to take it slow, but it also gives the monsters some distinct advantages - try dodging a revenant's missile in a tight corridor or running away from the archvile in the train wagon, and you'll know what I mean.

All in all, a very good urban episode with some breaks from just being city blocks or huge buildings, with plenty of doomcute. Definitely worth your time!

I just played it but uploading quake videos currently (necro insomniac). Played it with blood dead redemption but this would have been perfect with that mod where you play as Postal guy.
