Batman: The Enemy Within - The Telltale Series. After finishing the first season, I'm giving this one a go.

Finally got Citizen Sleeper. Pretty good so far. Interestingly enough, despite being a RPG, it features no combat whatsoever. It does feature time limits like in Fallout 1, but they do not feel contrived like the Water Chip one, where the game ends regardless of your investment in the quest.

MU Online. Some guy I met on the server I'm playing (GlobalMuOnline) stopped playing because he got mad at getting PK'ed too many times by someone who started chasing him after they had a discussion over the game chat. My Dark Lord is now much more powerful but I might as well quit playing soon because MU is so monotone and always bores me eventually.

I have finished Half-Life Alyx with the No VR Mod in story mode for a first run. That was very good, 12 hours of game, good graphics, immersion and gameplay but there are sometimes some collision bugs. I am actually on a second run in normal mode and it's more harder because you have to take care of ammo and the game becomes a truly survival horror. There are 4 modes of difficulty :

Story.

Easy.

Normal.

Hard.

I wish that the mod will evolve in a new version because this game is fantastic and i love the universe of Half-Life.

Started playing Alan Wake for the first time and I'm actually almost enjoying how much I hate this game so far. A novelist with writer's block takes a vacation to Twin Peaks Bright Falls to get away from writing, but feels pressure from everyone around him to use the opportunity to get back into writing, fuck me. Log lady? More like lamp lady, because everything seems to be a reference to light and darkness, but also Twin Peaks.

I know I've just started the game and already I'm off to a needlessly negative notion, but I'm going to remain open as I continue to play because I do want to enjoy it, and I'm an absolute sucker for games with flashlights in dark environments; I also enjoy Stephen King and David Lynch (and Max Payne for that matter, as well as games like Shenmue and Deadly Premonition), and on paper I should love everything about this, but nothing so far here feels earned; starting in a meaningless dream sequence followed by a series of mundane events and then what seems to be the main catalyst of the story, and without any lead up to it other than a cryptic old lady straight out of Silent Hill. I get that they wanted to show off the kooky Lynch diner with all the kooky characters as soon as possible, but it may have landed better if it didn't happen until at least a few hours into the game as maybe a playable flashback, after I'm already invested in the story and setting, or as a way to break up the pacing, or do SOMETHING to make it feel more earned. I did almost feel a tinge of investment during the argument between Alan and Alice and the incident thereafter but all tension was immediately deflated by a flat voice over explaining in words what I just saw.

I just wanted to rant a bit while it's still fresh, and come back later to see how much egg is on my face after actually playing the whole game. If you enjoyed Alan Wake, I would love to hear about it.

Decided to plug my flight stick back. Currently on the third act of Freespace 2. Such an amazing game, with nice mission variety, and gorgeous graphics when using the open-source patches. It has been a little hard to get used to the controls, but it is not as complicated as it originally seems.

Freespace 2, made me want to replay Star Wars Tie Fighter. Kind of a similar game, but much more basic. It is probably one of the best SW games i have played, but it has some problems due to its age. Difficulty wise it is all over the place, some missions are quite easy while the last level of each set tends to be very difficult. At times, the game feels a little RNG dependent with the player getting killed without much input. All in All, the atmosphere, the controls and music make out for it.

I have also been playing a little bit of wing commander 3. Out of these three games this is probably the one I like the least. Presentation is top notch, but missions feel to samey and combat too random. I don't quite get how to react to enemies as the targeting system is more basic than the others. Don't think I will finish it

I am currently replaying Doom II with Rich Nagel's Eternal Doom soundtrack and so far, it surprisingly fits!

I say surprisingly, because Eternal Doom seems much slower-paced than regular Doom II, hence why I gave up on the former, as it was not my thing. Still, I am glad I was able to figure out a way to enjoy the soundtrack even if it is not in the mapset it was composed for.

Haven't played a computer game for 2 months because of massive brain overheat. Maybe even for longer, i don't even have recollection of any events from last winter.
Started up modded Fallout 4 in an another attempt to find enjoyment in it, this time all in on survival mode. And damn, i sort of like it, almost feeling ashamed. It can be as weird as Oblivion, and there's absolutely no limit to how you can enjoy yourself. And that settlement mechanic - i don't dare to neglect it, as long as Preston keeps his distance.
Last evening i started it up. First, it crashed while i was taking a smoke break, in pause menu. Then i had a random supermutant encounter in the open, and hit the Greygarden robots by accident when they came to me to help: they aggroed irreversibly. Next time i got to that place again, those supermutants spawned on the roof of a greenhouse, literally a few meters above where i was standing. Then, after a pretty sweaty gunfight, i died to a tripwire-rigged rocket launcher 5 meters away from a bed, having not had used it (sleeping is the only way to save the game). The final nail was a momentary power outage that killed quite a bit of my progress once again. And sure as hell, i will return. The cat rescue quest is what made my heart melt tbh - it's not a serious game by any means, but a good one without pretention.

I managed to make WarCraft II run on my PSP... or rather I downloaded the PS1 port. It is a surprisingly elegant port and the control scheme is much more intuitive than I expected, even if it is not on par with a mouse and a keyboard. It is a shame that Blizzard never ported StarCraft to PS1; with its CD-ROM format, it would have probably been a better platform than the Nintendo 64.

I might also check out the Command & Conquer ports as well if they are of similar quality.

This was just brought to my attention:

https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4086/

https://github.com/justin3009/MMX3-ZeroProject/tree/c873108ade79dc78cda989d787cabdea34ed6777

A rom hack for Mega Man X3 that makes Zero playable from beginning to end and able to use subweapons. It also comes with a few quality-of-life improvements, like a save feature and a New Game + mode! Just do not expect Zero to play like in Mega Man X4, however: that might be my only gripe with the rom hack, as it sticks a bit too close to how Zero originally played in X3 - that is, slower and more sluggish than X.

Not currently but I did beat Horizon Forbidden West (after having had it for over a year) and the Burning Shores DLC last week, it was pretty fun except for how sometimes the combat feels like being thrown in a blender.

HFW spoiler in case anyone cares:

Spoiler

I was kinda of let down by the main story's final boss, basically it's just a powered up specter. I'm really curious about how they'll do Nemesis in Horizon 3 since a big sentient cloud in space is well beyond the scope of anything in Zero Dawn and only slightly beyond the scope of the Far Zenith concept in Forbidden West.

Burning Shores spoilers since that's still relatively new:

Spoiler

The new machines are cool, I like the idea of the stingwings, but bileguts can kiss my ass. but that final boss! I was really hoping I'd be fighting a Horus at some point during HFW's storyline but they saved it for the DLC and as a final boss that one kicks ass. It's so huge and you're juggling trying to shoot at heat sinks, dodging attacks, having corruptors coming at you... And the ending where Seyka and Aloy love each other (at least, that's the option I picked) was really sweet. Aloy needs someone after everything she's been through in Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. I hope this is the canon choice and that Seyka shows up at some point in Horizon 3.

Playing Mega Man X4 with the UNDUB romhack. I do not mind the original English dub (it certainly has more charm and personality than the more "competent" dubs we got towards the end of the X series), but it is nice to hear the game the way it was intended and also some of the voice lines that were cut from the English release.

Just like with Mega Man X5, the only area where the English audio is definitely superior in my opinion is the opening cutscene music. Besides, "Makenai Ai ga Kitto aru" is nice, but it is no "Electrical Communication".

Playing through F.E.A.R. for the first time since first trying it on a friend's computer in like 2007. Really great atmosphere, and better lighting than most games that come out today. Hearing the sound of bullet casings pour out onto wooden floors is so satisfying, and all the jumpy-kicky melee combinations feel great to pull off in a firefight. The spooky set pieces are whatever, there's always something like a flickering HUD or sound sting to telegraph when something "sPoOkY" is about to happen, so it all falls flat for the most part, and the creepy little girl with dark hair cliche was played out even in 2005, but the overall vibe with dramatic lighting, droning ambient music and excellent foley create a cool atmosphere with the setting of office buildings in a big city.

Probably one of the best NES soundtracks, as well.

I just started playing FFXIV, so there's that. I'm still getting the hang of it. I'm working my way up to Paladin currently. I'm a Roegadyn. He's a cool guy.

I also just finished my Leon playthrough of RE2 remake. Really awesome. Jumped right into 2nd Run Claire, but it's a bit of a slog currently.

Same game (Gran Turismo 4) but this time i created a 704hp Monster that eats Tsukuba for breakfast (0'57.365)

...the host body for the monster? a 1991 Lexus GS300, as bonkers as it sounds.

Finally played through Fava Beans, which from what I understand is some sort of classic.

It was nice for the most part, but the final map was quite anticlimactic. A small map with only two Barons of Hell? Really?

I know it's really old and probably was pretty good for its day but I couldn't even finish it, stopped at map 6 so never got to that exciting two Baron fight. I found it completely boring, mowing down tons of low tier enemies with no challenge whatsoever, just wait till they walk through a door.

The authors read-me file which declared "this a good mapset, not crap everyone else makes" kinda made me want to not like it too. He may of actually been close to the truth in 95 or whenever it released but that's still some major arrogance.

On a bit of a Warhammer kick right now, playing Boltgun, Gladius and Inquisitor. Oh and Pokémon Heart Gold on my DS, after playing some of Sword/Shield with my son it's amazing how much better and harder the older games were, the new games have so much QoL stuff it's taken all the challenge out.

Wanted to play a Zelda like game, but have already played most of the 2d ones.

I am playing through Landstalker for the Sega Genesis. It is an isometric action adventure with some mild rpg elements. Pretty good presentation and difficult gameplay.

The game is quite linear and has an addicting gameplay loop of exploring towns and clearing dungeons butch with less reliance on items and occasionally platforming.

I am halfway through it, and find it quite fun; however the control takes some times getting used to and the lack of maps makes the exploration a little weird some times.

I hate that old AVGN video where he claimed that the Sega Genesis had no good games except for Sonic. While I still think that the Super Nintendo is the superior console (especially when it comes to the controller), I keep finding out about these forgotten/underappreciated gems on the Sega Genesis.
