I never new he had a name, though in context that doesn't make sense. Only thing we have to go off of is the doom 3 comics which name him John Kane, but I wouldn't doubt that it's not canon.

the doomguy is a type of FPS character that has no real personality, so that the player can self-insert.

So I'd say that he has your name.

I've always been a fan of the Blazkowicz connection. For one, obviously with the nu doom games, Doom Guy has escaped his original domain as a self insert and became a character of his own. Secondly, if you take the mugshots into account, Doom Guy and Blazkowicz are very nearly the same.

Thirdly, it's pretty cool narratively. Bloodline stories are always fun.

Canonically his last name is either Blaze or Blazkowicz. B.J. is the grandfather of Commander Keen (Billy Blaze) who is Doomguy's father. So I don't know. B.J. Blazkowicz III would make the most sense, but that seems lame to me. Could always mix and match, call him "Flynn Blazkowicz" if you wanted. But I don't know. I'll just call him Doomguy.
