DOWNLOAD Description and backstory: In the summer of 2023, the Scythe Re-Sharpened community project was launched under the leadership of @EPICALLL, with the goal of re-imagining Scythe. Later, due to certain issues with chaotic conduct and low quality control, the community project closed down and was instead replaced by Rusty Drill under the leadership of @A2Rob, which is still going well to this day. @EPICALLL on the other hand started a new project of theirs called VANITY which has also started quite successfully, I recommend you check both out and if possible participate too. As for Scythe Re-Sharpened, some maps had already been made for it, and by the time the project closed, my MAP20 remake was getting closer to completion. As a result, after the project was closed the 95% finished map was kicked into the long grass with the thinking that it might be a good idea to try to remake the whole wad. And so, after half a year, I got my map, bring it to the release presentable state, having done some closed playtests, and I'm throwing it here. So far it's a teaser from the very MAP20. If you like the idea and realization, the next step will be to create a demo version of 6-7 maps. And most importantly, my goal was to create new levels while maintaining the aesthetics and key moments of the original map, so that at some point during the game you'll think "Oh, it's just like that map, I recognize that moment/frame". Thanks for the video. It's a shame that in gzdoom with the mod broke most of the work with lighting and monster behavior, the map for obvious reasons was made for a regular doom. Regarding cyberdemon and not only, this is a mistake Project Brutality, it has poor compatibility with such maps, as the authors did not pay proper attention to the accuracy of hitboxes and movement of mobs. Another man on my other map also had it break in a similar way. Nevertheless, I'm glad you liked it. If you are not a fan of vanilla gameplay and accurate doom ports, you can also try to play with the mod Dusted Pandemonia or Nobody Told Me About id, at least with it the map worked fine when testing on GZDoom. RichardDS90 Posted January 31 After being on something of a Scythe-fest lately, I thought I'd give this a whirl. Feels VERY faithful to MAP20 while having it's own identity. I look forward to seeing the next demo and the full megawad.
