EANB Posted December 10, 2023 Did not expect Glaive 3 to be a runner-up when there were countless quality releases this year! Thanks so much! Reading these is always an inspiration to keep on mapping. 12 Share this post Link to post

NuMetalManiak Posted December 10, 2023 So...many...MEGAWADS THIS YEAR. We're going to be busy at the wiki for the next few weeks and months, working in and out of our real jobs and any loopholes in between. 11 Share this post Link to post
EduardoAndFriends Posted December 10, 2023 59 minutes ago, Biodegradable said: Happy 30th anniversary, kids! 2023 has been an utterly incredible year for Doom. The "peak" really doesn't exist for this community because you all fucking obliterate it each year, constantly outdoing yourselves! Really happy to see The Doom Bards Krew win a Caco for CyberPrimate, which is one of my absolute favourite WADs of the year, as well as my buddy @EduardoAndFriends receiving recognition for blowing us all out of the water with such promise and releasing 4 complete and terrific miniWADs in a single year. Damn proud of you, Ed! I already had several moments of "Best Thing of the Year" running in my head as far back goddamn January, that's how bloody brilliant the creations and achievements were across the board! There's even two projects I playtested for (Break Point and Deep Breath) that got mentioned this year! WOOT! Here's to another 30 years, you guys. I fucking love Doom! WHAAAAAAAAAT?! This is beyond comprehension! Thanks so much, Cacoward peoples, it's very gratifying to know that my silly little hobby has been enjoyed by people and is the perfect punt to continue making more stuff. Look out, 2024, I'm coming at ya. Thanks, @Biodegradable mate, without your bloody marvellous assistance in testing and general advice, stuff would undoubtedly not have moved beyond a few maps, so thanks bud, thankyouthankyouthankyou. I'd also like to thank the Academy-- (Oscars music). 22 Share this post Link to post
Gregor Posted December 10, 2023 Very enjoyable read (like always)! Love the music section in particular and the special myhouse write-up. The Cacowards team never disappoints. Here's to another beautiful year of Dooming! Cheers, everyone! 6 Share this post Link to post

HeadshotTAS Posted December 10, 2023 Absolutely amazed and honored to see Dreamblood get an award. I didn't even know it was in consideration! Seriously, thank you to everyone involved. I am very happy to see Doom 64 get increasingly more representation in this community and I'm especially happy to have done my part in showing off the potential that the game has. I'm happy to say that the future of the game has never looked brighter than it has right now. Thank you so much!!! It really feels like my dreams have come true! 11 Share this post Link to post
DrinkyBird Posted December 10, 2023 Very awesome to see JMCE get a sidebar :D The Jumpmaze community is one of the most dedicated niches of a niche of a niche you'll ever find, a lot of us have been here since the original fifteen years ago, and hopefully it'll live for another fifteen. (I would like to mention, though, that JMCE isn't just for preserving maps, it's where most new maps also land first - most of the 54 maps in the mentioned latest update were brand new!) Terminus Posted December 10, 2023 Congratulations to all of the winners! This behemoth of a game is not stopping the brakes, and it has the best community it could ever ask for. It was an honor to work on the Cacowards for the second year in a row, and I hope you enjoy the writeups as much as we enjoyed doing them! Happy 30th, Doom! 21 Share this post Link to post

cannonball Posted December 10, 2023 (edited) 2023, it’s been an alright year for Doom… Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to what I think is one of, if not the strongest years of Doom wads and mods I have seen. A great Cacowards write up as usual and it is great to see so many wad soundtracks celebrated too (both old and new). 11 Share this post Link to post
Major Arlene Posted December 10, 2023 Thank you guys so much for the Break//Point// mention (and sneaking in a Heelbain one!). And even for letting me sneak in on the Doot Eternal section (and land a last-minute addition). Congratulations to all the winners and mentions this year. This community went all out for the thirtieth birthday of Doom and did not disappoint. 14 Share this post Link to post
HiMyNameIsChair Posted December 10, 2023 Fantastic work on all the write-ups, and congrats to all the winners~! God... what a lineup this year, we were spoiled for choice! Also, thank you as always for spotlighting RAMP! When I saw my map alongside the few that got highlighted, I was genuinely lost for words. It meant a lot, especially because of how many phenomenal maps got submitted this year! Even a passing mention feels like an honor, especially in a community with no shortage of incredible people. Here's to an incredible year of Doom, and to many more to come~! 14 Share this post Link to post
princetontiger Posted December 10, 2023 Super awesome... damn, you guys are a memory bank of all things Doom! I was hoping myhouse would be featured a bit more prominently... it took the world by storm earlier this year, but if someone reads this in 2030, you'd never know it. 2 Share this post Link to post
Yugiboy85 Posted December 10, 2023 Congrats to all the people :D Very good write-up this year 2 Share this post Link to post

Peccatum Mihzamiz Posted December 10, 2023 (edited) Happy birthday Doom and congratulations to everyone that got a Caco or a mention! This truly is an enormous mapping scene with a gargantuan body of scintillating work. So many great write-ups, so many great wads I hadn't had a chance to look at yet. Here's to 30 more years *raises glass* Also: my first Golden Caco, woohoo! Edited December 10, 2023 by Peccatum Mihzamiz 10 Share this post Link to post
