Best years of your life?

For me, it would be 2013, 2014, 2011, 2010 (sorta remember the year, but don't really), 2015, aaannnd 2018. All phenomenal years of my childhood that I look back fondly. They were, simpler times :') 

I have yet to experience the best years of my life tbh mostly because I don't know what to expect tomorrow or even minutes from now. There's always the potential for something better waiting for me in the future

On that note, it depends on "best for what?". Best economically. Best love life. Best health. Best general happiness.

I always loved Steven Wright's shtick about keeping a diary since the day he was born:

Can you still have nostalgia as an adult? Or is this strictly only a childhood thing? 

Somehow I feel like 2024 will bring up something completely new and good, but regarding previous timelines I consider 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2019 to stand out.

That being said I do miss pre 2010's atmosphere.

Twentytwo and twentythree time cake for my life.

Every moment is the best. Even the really painful and stressful stuff. I'm having an overall better time than ever. 

2014 and 2017.

1993-1998, when i was a student.

Life just keeps getting better for me lately, so hopefully I've got some more good years yet to come :)

probably now, strongly correlated with an uptick in income in my later 20s and more experience of the real world which has helped shaped independent decision-making. that said, although i love the freedom i have now, I do have some stand-out nostalgic memories of when I was a late teen back in my home town. They're quite vulnerable to being rose-tinted however, but a few very happy memories are with me and will remain so likely for as long as I am conscious! 

I don't think I can claim to have a best years. They've all been pretty mixed. I expect next year will be one of the better ones as life starts to stabilize after some major changes recently, but who knows.

when I was 18 years old upto 21,22(2003 to 2006) I was carefree yet bit disciplined,physically and health wise best condition,Sexual feelings were not so strong to take control,can enjoy without money....family was United....though recently when I was 35 years old I again sort of enjoy life in solitude but my mental and physical health is now bit downwards....

i'm in them right now.

2000 to 2008.  And then that was that.

Without going into too much detail, goth girlfriend.

Childhood (90's until 2003), but can't deny things has been getting better since the end of the pandemia. Hopefully 2024 will be the best personally since childhood years

For me, some things keep improving, others keep getting worse.

2007-2009 was peak life for me. I just finished high school, I had a rock band with my best friends and we were gigging around town. I started dating my now wife. Smartphones still weren't really a thing and social media was in its infancy (myspace was still alive and very much used in the context of bands).

I viewed life with excitement and wonder and everything was more intense as I still was a teenager.

Hard to pinpoint. I tend to focus on the negative since it is so pervasive. Shit's rough.

2018-early 2019, I think. That was honestly kind of peak for me, because I felt like I had a better grasp on things. Then I went to college and COVID happened halfway through the second semester. I couldn't tell you if it was COVID or other factors that led to me feeling like I wasn't in control anymore, but I think I'm slowly getting into a better place now.

2012 and 2017 were my best years. There were many things I've achieved in those years & it made me feel proud of myself.

So many good games I've played those years as well.

I feel like images like these are getting more relatable the older I get, sadly.
 

The best part of my life was probably the short period between finishing high school and beginning university. For once, I was very glad that I was free from my old environment, and that I would be able to shape my life into something better. I had a lot of optimism and excitement for what would come next. Within a few years that enthusiasm had crumbled down though.

Rose tinted glasses tell me mid to late 80s. Just turning into an adult, the BEST music (Maiden, Saxon, Priest, Budgie, Zeb Dragon...). But then, my kids came along 10 years ago. The best times definitely move with the times and your perspective.

I dunno, I guess saying the best times have already happened is giving up and saying that you don't think better times will ever happen.  They will of course. The best times are always to come.
