What was the best Christmas you had from your childhood?

For me, it will always be 2013. Man do I miss being 9, as it felt like life was full of wonder and excitement. 4th grade elementary ruled during the winter season. And having Christmas break during that time was awesome. And then Going to my grandparents house for Christmas, seeing my cousins aswell. Just thinking about it makes me tear up 🥲.

'07, year after the Wii came out. Didn't grow up in a very affluent household and I believe we picked one up second-hand. Got Mario Galaxy and Sonic and the Secret Rings, you can probably guess which one I liked better. I dunno, each one is special in its own way but in recent memory they've all been pretty relaxed in my adult life. I got a MIDI controller 3 years ago, still been meaning to make good use of that but theory scares me. Last year I went to a buddy's on Xmas eve and ended up getting no sleep, spent christmas morning cranky, exhausted, and not feeling good mentally until I cracked open the liqueur shooters my buddy gave me the night before. I think it also had something to do with catching my second wind.

In short, probably 2007 but really all of the early-to-mid childhood ones were great. Christmas somewhat loses its magic once you realize for most people it boils down to commercialism.

My happiest Christmases were when I got 1gift xmas,1gift birthday separately.  Most of the time it would be for example 1 shoe for xmas, the other for bday. Got so I wouldn't accept anything from family. I'm just glad I can buy for myself.

I think it was probably 1998, although I don't remember too much, besides Turok 2 was hiding in a tree.

Best Christmas for me was in the year 2000, so Loving now I got Zelda Majeros Mask for the N64, and Teken 3 for PS1.

Christmas of 2005 when I received my first guitar, the rest is history.

When I got a Technodrome, and my brother and I got an NES with Super Mario Brothers/Duck Hunt, and TMNT 2: The Arcade Game.

Yeah, beat that for a 90's perfect Christmas.

When I got the N64 

hmm thats a tough one but the one I got Starcraft for Christmas was a pretty big one.

That was a really damn good Christmas as well. But my Mom spoiled it for me. Toy's 'R Us had a few consoles set up so you could play Super Mario 64, to make absolutely sure that children would bug their parents to no end about the system, and I played it for a bit. I loved it, but I didn't really like the controller, it was awkward to say the least. But I still wanted one, and of course I asked for one for Christmas. But one time at dinner, after all the presents were under the tree, I started talking about the N64 to my Mom, and I mentioned that I didn't really like the controller though. And she responded "Well, I'm sure you'll get used to it."

And then I got a really shocked look on my face, and then she got a really shocked look on her face, and tried to backtrack, "Well, I mean, if you ever play it again, I'm sure eventually you would get used to it." That was a really great Christmas.

2004, when I got my Game Boy Advance with Street Fighter Alpha 3 (I still have both!), it was under my arm when sleeping (My mother even took photos of that lol).

 

Too bad I had a pretty conservative family, even for Asian standard, so I never experienced Christmas properly

I suppose my best Christmas was when I finally convinced my parents to have a meal in a restaurant to vaguely celebrate it instead of doing absolute nothing.

can't remember honestly, but was one when I had less than 8 years, when I got a Xbox 360

1994. I got doom after my parents and I got a new PC (that was totally stored in my room)

Probably that one where I got the big Scalextric set. We had a big basement area where it could be set up too.

Most memorable was the Ceaușescu TV spectacular. And most memorable Boxing Day (not best, obviously) was the one with the huge earthquake.
