Although I'm not even ready to release the demo yet, I'm working on a cool 13 map mod for doom 2, called pits.

You'll see tons of nukage here. New weapons, enemies, and levels are going to come out when i finish the third map!

A new map for E3M1 Boom. This is a massive map with elements of Gate to Limbo and Episode 2 of Doom. Namely the tech part at the beginning. This is rather like E2M5.

I was talking to @Daytime Waitress earlier today about the same thing.

 

Occasionally you'll see it w/ royalty, but barely anything else!

 

Def underutilized IMO.

Man looking through this thread is inspiring in one sense but it also makes me question the credibility of my own maps even more...

Currently working on Map07 of 9 of my maiden mini map mix. Bit slow going lately but the last day or three have had some progress - navigation complete, rough lighting pass in progress along with the first pass on detailing to make my rooms seem a little less abstract a kind of hell. Not even started on monster and item placement lol.

I had to take a day or two off from mapping until I could get myself to continue on with my map. It's my first time using those 3D bridges. I'm almost done with this section. I need to make the other path along the cliff next to the waterfall. I'd say I'm about halfway done with the map. I need to make three more sections until I consider this map complete: a jungle corridor with a bunch of trees, a giant roaring river you have to cross through, another jungle corridor and then the entrance to a jungle fortress.

I really like that first one with the two parallel sub-themes (the blood/bloody bricks/wires vs. the slime/jade bricks/vines).

Map 2 of 'Irradiated' takes place in a maintenance tunnel full of pipes leaking slime. As before, you are an irradiated marine, so nukage heals you, and normal floors hurt you. I'm like 60-70% done?? So close but so far!! I'm really happy with how it's turning out, I can't wait to finally share it!
