When using the vanilla automap color preset with the "color keyed doors" on, the yellow and red door colour is too similar to the other map colours and you can't notice the difference. It's possible to change the locked door colors in woof.cfg if you look for the "mapcolor_rdor", "mapcolor_bdor", "mapcolor_ydor" values. You could use SLADE as a cheat sheet for the colors like in this screenshot. Aside from doors, you can still change all the individual map colors in the CFG. Average Posted May 26 I know I've asked about this before but it was a long time ago and nobody explicitly said no so I thought I'd ask again. Would it be possible to add an option (even if only in the .cfg file) to have the intermission scores count be instant? I doubt anyone actually sits through the rattling gun sound watching the tally go up certainly not with the size of some of today's maps. I know on can just press fire but, as the saying goes, why not both? Also, bonus feature request: Doom 64 style transparency for the Spectres. For the color of the Spectre you'd need either a palette translation or an entirely new set of sprites. (Wouldn't be impossible for Woof! since DEHEXTRA exists.) 0 Share this post Link to post

Personally I'd maybe rather list this elsewhere, labeled something like "Invisibility Effect" with the options "Blocky" and "Resolution-Based" or "Scaled" (ideally under General > Misc > Quality of Life, right next to "Invulnerability Effect"). I built Nugget from source, put the executable in ".local/share/nugget-doom" (alongside the appimage and its config), started it through ZDL, and I still had the crackling problem. It generated its own config file separate from the appimage config. I then did the same for Woof, and same story, except it didn't generate its own config file; it seemed to be using the one made by the appimage. I then deleted that config file and tried again, and this time the clicking was pretty much gone. I then deleted both Nugget configs and tried the nugget-doom executable again, and the clicking was pretty much gone. I then deleted those configs and tried the Woof and Nugget appimages again with fresh configs, and the clicking was pretty much gone. I don't get it. It's not like I put anything weird in those configs, and I didn't carry them over from older versions, or anything. I'm fully expecting it to randomly break again. The Woof workflow on GitHub was recently updated to use Ubuntu 24.04 LTS which has a good, recent* version of OpenAL Soft. Compiling from source and either running it directly or making an AppImage manually is fine (tested with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Arch Linux). *Fabian is also a Debian developer so he updated the OpenAL Soft package which had no Debian/Ubuntu maintainer for some reason. Due to the way longer-term support releases work, only the newer Debian/Ubuntu releases actually have a recent version. 3 Share this post Link to post

Try the first room in DBP25.wad with rotating columns that cause a lot of clicking. I did a test on Arch Linux - running the released Woof-14.5.0-Linux.appimage with old OpenAL and the newer artifact build Woof-14.5.0-Linux.appimage with new OpenAL. Anyway, I was just confused, because sometimes there is no clicking (in both the executable and appimage) and sometimes there is a ton.
