If Doom 2 happened in real life, would we win?

If we had doomguy we could maybe.
I dont know if doomguy will manifest into reality or not so uhhh

When you complete DOOM II on PC, it says the hellish invasion is over right??  It shouldn't be a problem if it happened in real life, the will of a human is  incredibly strong sometimes..

I'm not American, but based on recent events, I believe that what would happen if Hell invaded the United States is that your government would first deny the invasion, then recommend drinking bleach to stop the invasion, and finally shoot blacks, asians, and latinos, claiming that they are also demons.
Maybe you'll stop the invasion in the end, but by then you'd be so immersed in fascism that you'd need doomguy to get you out of it.

Edit: I just realized that this plot has already been described in The New Colossus. Good game, I have to say.

In Spain, we would have Doom 2 in Spain only, which is considerably more difficult than Doom 2, so I don't feel bad saying that we would probably have a bad time too.

Seeing as the entire world's militaries were annihilated and there's no such thing as one man armies (such notable real life instances are extremely rare and on much smaller scales) and my general cynicism I'd say fat chance fancy pants.

The second Doom novel (from the 90s) covered this and Doom 2 in general.  We don't stand a chance. ;-)

Although I feel like we shouldn't quite assume they'd be as dumb as their game counterparts. All the same, if they had just the same tools as they did in the game, it's hard to see them with a serious chance at least in the US. We would probably win if it was even like 5 v 1 odds in most cases.

No, neubejiita, WE are the demons.

Assuming the demons are around their powers in Doom Eternal they win. They are too fast for normal humans and unlike Doomguy most people will tire out rapidly when trying to dodge a baron of  hell or Marauder. They can ambush teleport around people so trying to use cover is mostly useless when imps and gargoyles can flood troops and kill them in seconds.

Demons might have problems with aircraft but I think it is safe to say they can just kill most pilots by turning them into a lost soul without even fighting the aircraft. Similar to tanks which also barely stand a chance against a baron or cyberdemon. Once demons take over an area they can warp in arch-viles and buff totems then normal soldiers will never be able to take it back from buffed snakes and mancubi.

Also everyone that dies turns into a zombie that can tank a few shots and use rifles, so countries that try to win normal wars by outnumbering foes will get absolutely wrecked after a few deaths snowball out of control.

We will be all right, we have Zero Master and the other legendary players mentioned above.

With years of practice of megawads we should also be able to do our part to stick it to them. As long as we prioritise Pain Elementals and ArchViles, making sure we have places to hide behind when engaging the latter, plus chaingunners.

Need to have soulspheres and megaarmor stockpiled to be distributed to everyone.

Given that in real life we wouldn't be able to carry much weapons or ammo, I'd take a SSG and plasma rifle with shells and cells in my backpack.

I wouldn't feel safe with a rocket launcher.

EDIT: Or the Chainsaw for that matter.

If the cyberdemon went nuclear like Godzilla, then all bets are off... Which begs the question... how much radiation does a BFG give??

Enough to kill a cyberdemon in 3 shots at most, which would put a bit of a wrench in its plans to become nuclear and take over the world

How would the BFG work in real life? Would the tracers come out of us like in the game, or would the ball actually work like it was meant to?

Also, would love to try a berserk fist in real life.
