Description: There's an abundance of everything: enemies, weapons, keys, colored lights. You name it, the map has too much of it.

Enemies are the same on all difficulties, but HNTR/HMP have more pickups. Whether that's enough is hard for myself to judge, as I know the layout too well. You can't get 100% items, so I hope nobody cares about that.

Map name: Butcher

Song: Torso Liquify by Emperor Spoon

 

Description/fun little story I made up: "Thanks to the extreme regenerative properties of the flesh that makes up a large chunk of Hell's landscape, the UAC has been able to set up multiple "Hell meat processing plants" to effectively wipe out world hunger. Though naturally, this process isn't all that safe. Sometimes the regeneration gets too extreme, resulting in the mass of flesh birthing new demons. Looks like you've drawn the short straw this time, so today it's up to you to clear out the plant. As is standard during the operation, you'll be given a chainsaw to use for the job, as well as a pistol for emergency use. Just don't get too trigger happy, we can't be selling meat with bullets embedded in them!"

 

A short Tyson(ish) map where you'll mainly be using the chainsaw to take things down, with the only extra ammo/weapons coming from the zombies you kill.

I'm too noob to actually complete this, but from the parts of the level I've managed to reach, this feels like a great secret level. The only thing I would add is some secrets. Btw, is there a way to get the Megaspheres in the first room?

Unfortunately, i'm going to have to withdraw from this project. I'm going through a rough patch in my life, and honestly haven't had the energy to work on mapping lately.

Hey all time for another monthly check-up.
The maps submitted were very good and well done to @Razza and @SCF, they were very enjoyable and out of the two Abundance was treat since maps like Butcher aren't my forte.
Moving on, the deadline dawns at September 1st however i am willing to push it back however much needs be.
Ideally while 33 maps was the goal, it is clear to me that it doesn't seem likely that we'll reach a high number of maps, so Knee Deep in the Dictionary might end up being a bite-sized pack of maps to blitz through in an hour.
But only time will tell!

As always be sure to send over any progress, maps or screenshots of your map if you can.

Been getting my creative gears spinning again! I haven't forgotten about this project, and I should be able to get a map out before the Sept. 1 deadline once I get a proper footing into the editor again. Will keep you posted once I have something showable!

I've been trying to find something to add or change to my map for the last 2 weeks or so, but I'm getting to the point where I feel like adding anything would ruin it, so I kinda don't know what to  do. Should I just submit it?

 

Edit: I finally got inspired and added some finishing touches around the whole map, I think I'll revise it tomorrow and then submit it.

Alright, I started working on my map again. I cut around half of the architecture, just keeping the most developed parts of it. I'm still really burnt out from mapping though, so there's no guarantee I'll finish it on time. If I don't get it mostly finished before then, I might post what I made here and let someone else pick it up if they'd like.

@Yop Unfortunately, I will have to give up my map slot. Haven't had as much mapping time as anticipated and won't have anything ready by the deadline.

Knee Deep in the Dictionary!

I have created a list of about 40 (English) Words for you to choose from for your map, you can interpret these words however you like. The Maps name isn't restricted however preferably it should include the chosen word in it. I know it's weird that a DOOM 2 project is named after a DOOM 1 episode, I'll admit that. 
You can pick whichever word for whichever map, words will be marked through when taken.
If you struggle on a word and how to interpret it feel free to use Dictionary.com
We'll be using MBF21 for this project and it has a maximum 33 participant slots.
The difficulty should be around Plutonia level

Rules:
1. Use the List you cannot choose your own words there's more than enough.
2. No limit on submission but do allow others a chance!
3. Custom Textures are allowed: 32in24-15 v2 will be the only set you can use.
4. Tools like Oblige and its variants are not allowed.
5. Custom Midis are allowed.

The Goal is: 33 Maps [30 Main, 3 Secret]
The Deadline is: SEPTEMBER 1ST 2024

Project will be extended by 2 weeks, this will also be the time i'm compiling the thing together.
So by September 15th if you haven't submitted your map then you won't be in the first release.
I can always add in maps later on however there'll be cut-off point which currently is TBD.

I created the map in slot 01 by mistake, but decided not to change it. I want to ask @Yop to move it to the slot that they think is better for it.


[SONG USED] = "The Gallery" by @Ajoura (mash-up of several compositions from Ib OST)
[MAPPER COMMENT] = An artificial world consisting of various elements of reality - a museum, a scientific center, an infernal fortress, etc., all twisted in an unusual way.

I hate to say this but I'm gonna drop out of this project. Right now I'm trying to spend almost all of my mapping energy towards finishing my Plutonia megawad, so I'd rather rework the map I started for this and use it there instead.

 

Edit: I just roughly finished it (still needs testing) in vanilla Plutonia form. I could theoretically still submit it to this project... but I'm not sure yet. Either way I'm still gonna use it in my wad, maybe it could be used in both?

This project became a dumping ground for all the overly ambitious ideas i had for PUSS35 Summer showdown, including a day and night cycle with waves of monsters attacking at set times, three different endings, and a ticking bomb like a death clock for added summer blockbuster excitement!

 

this was a whole lot of fun and as per usual got way out of hand, i will do some more playtesting for the next version, this one is as is after Nine days of extra time spent well]
