Who would win against everyone else: Doomguy, Master Chief, Gordan Freeman, Serious Sam, Duke Nukem or Ranger?

I always hate trying to answer questions like this because they are all protagonists.

2016/Eternal's version of Doomguy is probably the most overpowered of the lot. He's literally some sort of eternal demon-killer, that Hell couldn't actually kill, merely restrain for a while.

 

Gordon Freeman is supposed to be a nerd, who owes much of his combat prowess to his HEV suit and perhaps some hidden assistance from the G-man. Master Chief is a genetically-engineered cyborgized super-soldier, which should push him near the top, but again a lot of his strength is supposed to come from his SPARTAN suit. "Serious" Sam Stone and Duke Nukem, in comparison, are the "badass normal" protagonists, they don't have power armor, or even armor at all, they don't have cyborgy bits or biochemical enhancements (though Duke did make use of steroids and "atomic health" whatever that means), they just have their big manly muscles. Likewise, the classic Doomguy is also just a regular Joe, he does wear an armor but it's just some regular kevlar vest, not a powered armor like his "Doom Slayer" counterpart, John-117 or Gordon Freeman. Quake's Ranger and Wolfenstein 3D's BJ Blazkowicz are also at this "normal" tier.

Assuming we're talking Doomguy rather than the Doom Slayer (who is ridiculously OP in-story), then Master Chief has all the odds stacked in his favour according to the backstory (even though in-game this isn't particularly well-reflected). As Gez pointed out, you're basically saying a load of well-armed tough guys fight against a super soldier in power armour and a scientist in an advanced haz-mat suit. Rating them by their opposition isn't much help either, as they all fight planetary invasion forces of super-human adversaries and usually unambiguously succeed in at least their own sphere of influence.

 

Throwing more FPS protagonists into the mix, and assuming everybody involved is fully-armed and equipped with maximum health and armour, I'd argue that the Cleric from HeXen getting a shot off with his Wraithverge would be a game changer, as spiritual damage from a horde of autonomous ghosts would be difficult for most other protagonists to fight back against, even taking backstory and lore into account (again, the Doom Slayer can probably bumpf his way out of this).

I don't know if they are using their own guns from own game, or not. If they are, for argument's sake, it would have to be Sam, honestly. 

 

Could be Master Chief, but he can only carry two guns. Whether he wins or not depends on which of those two guns he happens to have, and if he does a good enough job exploiting openings.

 

Also, we need to clear up if we're talking about classic Doomguy, or the Doomslayer. The subject line says Doomguy, so I'm assuming we're talking about the Doomguy from the old games.

 

Everybody wants to say Doomguy, but Doomguy has glaring weaknesses when it comes to accuracy, fire-rate, and the inability to shoot what isn't directly in front of him. Weird as it might sound, that last one is a fatal flaw. All these contemporaries have something that can do bank-shots, lay traps, or something similar. 90s Doomguy cannot. And even the mighty BFG isn't very effective at sniping distance.

 

Doomguy has to pick his battles, bottom line. About 60% chance of winning this match-up.

Duke would probably just fly up with his jetpack, and Doomguy would find a corner and glide out into the void.

 

Master Chief would be slain by some bizarre physics interaction that has a one-in-a-million chance to occur.

 

Then the G-Man would show up, breathe heavily and say something creepy, and they'd all fall into a collapsing singularity never to be heard from again.

Doomguy definitely wins the staring match in a pool of water. Everyone else sinks and drowns, but he just stands on the water surface.

See to me the crux of this question is: are we going by gameplay or storyline? Chief is my bet if we’re going by storyline. If we’re going by gameplay though it’s gotta be OG Doomguy right? I mean let’s just be (un)realistic for a second, the only video game character who is faster is Sonic. Then there’s the BFG which is still one of the toughest weapons a protagonist has ever wielded single-handedly in a game. You’d be praying to get a clean shot on him because that will put him down, but.. good luck landing it then instantly dodging not only the BFG ball but that wide-as-fuck cone too!

TBH, if we are going that way, we would also have to include Lo Wang, Shelly, Ranger, Bitterman, B.J and other similar protags.

@Marlamir Tbh bro really depends where the location is at. If it's a big ass open area everyone whill dodge a slow ass green ball , not to mention it needs to hit the wall (and would take a lot of time) while he is looking at them. And by that time they would already have tooken cover. If it's on a very tight map. Doomguy has to get very close and that is risky. They can just pull out their version of the SSG and rape him or just spam the corridor with rockets so he doesn't rush. So you have to be very stratigic with BFG. Not to mention most of them are fast.Not to mention the monent he kills 1 with the BFG , some of them would see an opening and would go for the easy kill. Edit- if it's a open map , everyone would have their hitscan out. So the moment he pulls out a bfg he is at a big Disadvantage
