Wow, didn't expect that. There's some hope for my GTX 1070 @ 1440 :-)

Does the game have better settings than high quality?

It probably has ultra settings, they're just not shown here because they'd be a bit excessive.

Damn, my current system just about squeaks by on the minimum specs.

64-bit Windows 10
Intel Core i7-7700
16GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB)

Time to start saving for a new gaming machine, I reckon.

The requirements got removed from the store page.

I wonder if they were outdated or something and the person who put it in goofed up.

My hopes of running the game half-decently on my laptop are out the window.

A perfect excuse to begin saving up for a desktop rig.

Two things for this thread: The alleged specs were taken down the same day (as of writing, the specs are removed from Steam), and this tweet:

Proceed henceforth with the assumption that we don't have all the facts.

You didn't cite a source, Dewmguy.

Looks like I won't be able to run it on the PC I bought last year. Typical. Will there be a demo so I can make sure?

Oh, no! My Radeon R9 270 can't handle it. I see the game requires 4 GBs of videomemory, so it's the bottleneck.

Well, it's mostly what I expected to see, except for:

WTF is this bullshit. And the game isn't even maxed out??????

Pff, yeah, just another reason to hate system requirements even more and move to consoles. Also nice to see the space requirements are actually lower than D2016, but no doubt it will increase noticeably after the DLCs.

tl;dr RIP in peace GTX 950.

Of course I expect this requirement to go up when DLCs arrive.

Unless I'm that bad at math, 50GB is less than 55 :p .

But that will soon become insignificant after a few updates and the DLCs anyway. It will probably reach 70, maybe 80GB by the time support ends and all DLCs get released.

Meh, at least I wasn't planning on playing it in the next couple of years anyway. I really need to get a console because I've had enough of this PC bullshit.

A lot of the advanced graphics settings on my Doom 2016 installation are set at Ultra, and it runs just fine. Is Doom Eternal really that demanding? I was expecting something a bit more scaleable.

System requirements definitely seem to imply Eternal will also hit PS5/Xbox Series X as they are definitely raised specs.

AMD 8320 (a shit CPU lemme tell ya) and ATI Fury with 16gigs here and I can play '16 Ultra at 80-120 fps on a 144hz monitor.  According to Can I Run It my pc doesn't hit the recommended mark in the cpu department, and it's about the same with Doom Eternal.  So it'll be interesting to see how this goes.

Will there be a demo for Doom Eternal, so we can see if the game will run without paying full price for it first?

Doom 2016 had a demo, so they'll probably do one for Eternal too.

Seconded.  Good thing I got myself a PS4 Pro last year.

And Google Stadia just announced three months of Stadia Pro subscription when you buy a Chromecast Ultra (via The Verge).
