Following @Roebloz's advice, I've made a brand new link for both the WAD and the 32in24-15Tex pack, just so that you don't have to download it on a separate page. I haven't incorporated them all in the WAD yet (I will do that last), but this serves as a temporary solution until I'm done.

Played on GZDooM, HMP.

 

Beautiful, short, action-packed maps. I loved it!

 

In MAP05 there was some trouble with the bridges. If I ran onto them diagonally, they did not raise and I fell down. This can also be seen on @Biodegradable's playthrough video at timestamps 28:1038:11 and 39:25.

Yeah, I know about those pesky bridges and their jankiness. It's still a major problem in Boom and limit-removing formats, and it can still happen even with optimized linedef placement 😔

 

Otherwise, thanks for giving it a try. I'm already working on more maps, and I will either churn them one by one or 5 at a time 😎 Stay tuned !

These maps were seriously FUN to play - I had a great experience and extra fun cause @Biodegradable & @Dubbag joined for commentary - lots of laughs and good times playing some Doom and I really hope more ppl see your maps because they are worthy!

 

 

This all together experience was my best ever and I seriously think this is my greatest video sent to Youtube

Thank you so much for your lovely video :D I couldn't tell which one of you made me laugh the most (but my money's definitely on Dubbag), but it's so nice to see a bunch of friends having a good time together. Especially on my WAD pack !!! O_o

 

Worry not, as I'm not done with Oripathy. I've already released MAP06 and MAP07, and MAP08/09/10 are coming during the week. Thanks for your patience, and until next time ;)

Since it's speed maps we're talking about, I'll do another batch of maps up until the end. I don't necessarily need to make huge ones like in MAP06 or the upcoming MAP08, so we'll see ;)

Another batch of maps have been added to Oripathy ! This includes :

 

Spoiler

- Map08, called Jane Austen's Internal Hemorrhage. It's my first foray into Slaughter-type maps ;)

- MAP09, called The Cocaine Express. Who doesn't love good ol' Boom train levels ?

- MAP10, called Urban Devilry. For all of you who are nostalgic (somehow) of Doom II's city levels !

Another update has come, and an important one : Two new maps are added,

MAP11 - Castle Von Kruidnoken / MAP12 - Gandalf's Moonbase !

 

Another significant change to those dropbox links is now the inclusion of a custom-made 32TEX texture pack, in order to accomodate for existing and to be added custom textures within the pack. Have fun !

It's funny how the name of this WAD reminds me 100% to Arknights's main concept, a disease called Oripathy, but I guess that is a mere coincidence.

If it is not, that is awesome, but regardless, the maps seem very nice and, while I have not had time to play much DooM as of lately, if I get some time, I will give it a look, that is, if I remember because I am extremely forgetful.

Given that the Intermission MIDI is Arknights's menu theme, I would say that's no coincidence at all 😏

This is the first time I hear of an Arknights fan on the DoomWorld community, that overjoys me to meet a fellow Doctor lol!

Yes, I will be sure to find time to play! I do not have Boom so I would go for GZDoom when the moment comes, as well, I'll see if it's possible to record a playthrough, otherwise I will just give feedback!

Hello there, fellow DOOMers !

 

Another day, another update to Oripathy ! This time, two new maps have been added to the rooster :

 

Spoiler

- MAP13 : A remake of Lotus Base, my very first collaborative contribution for this website. Time flies by, but the UAC was never hip for derelict and flesh-infested demons. In this brand new outpost, will you survive the onslaught of demons ?

- MAP14 : In French, we call this sort of maps "une enculade sévère". Good luck.

 

Additionally, some slight changes were made here and there in some previous maps. Those changes won't be noticed immediately, but are a little bit more interesting to boot.

P.S : Don't mind the slight fix to V5. I've corrected the tracklist for good (although I thought I had it done prior to that), and rebalanced just a tiny lil' bit MAP14.

MAP15 : Marble Madness. Don't lose yours, as you navigate through a nexus of five color-themed marble structures, seeking the exit. But wait, there's a red key lying here. And a secret exit ! Maybe there's more to it than just polished stone here !

 

Additionally, my WAD now sports a custom TITLEPIC and INTERPIC ! Expect more to come by the end of this journey :D

 

Thus, I bid you farewell, while you enjoy my content once more.

Hey there, fellow DOOMers !

 

As you can probably imagine by now, new maps just got added onto Oripathy :

 

Spoiler

- MAP31 : The Dreadful City. A map inspired by my very first map ever produced and distributed on this website, The City of Dread. Nostalgia will fill your body... to death !

- MAP32 : The Modren Man. With 900 enemies to fight inside this familiar-shaped map, this is (by far) my most complex and difficult rendition of a slaughter-fest, even more so than Jane Austen's Internal Hemorrhage !

- MAP16 : Modern Problems Require Modern Solutions. An attempt at a gimmick map, where your only weapon is a rocket launcher. Blast your way through hordes of demons in the city's local museum !

 

Changes were also made to MAP15's ending, to better accomodate for MAP16's gimmick.

Hello there, fellow DOOMers !

 

Wowie ! Another  update after a couple of days ! What a twist ;-;

 

Spoiler

- MAP17 : DE_Egypt.exe. Nothing like trying real hard to emulate either Scythe's egyptian episode or Powerslave. The choice is yours, but don't forget the enemies lurking in the dark corners of this temple !

- MAP18 : Black Jack's Gambit. Perhaps a much more occidental setting is more your forté. Worry not, as this micro-slaughter map sees you travelling through the Temple of the Dollar ! No refunds for your precious earnings !

- MAP19 : Ramlethal County Prison. Never, in the history of penitentionaries administrated by the UAC, has a prison deserved its name. Survival is the motto here, as Mark Klem's soundtrack follows your footsteps towards escaping from jail !

 

Additionally, I've taken upon myself to correct a slight soft-locking bug in MAP10.

Hello there, fellow DOOMers, and happy April Fools' Day to all of you !

 

No joke WADs this time, instead you get 6 genuine levels full of fun & pain to play. Here's the list :

 

Spoiler

- MAP20 : Neurotic Flesh. Something a little bit more short for a change. Watch out for those ugly pinkies hiding in the walls !

- MAP21 : The Revenants Appear. Another "fun" gimmick map where your only ressources are your wits and a double-barrel shotgun. Kill the Revenants before they can kill you !

- MAP22 : Rue Des Acacias. Geddit ? My main inspiration for this level was probably Hellbound or something, it's hard to tell...

- MAP23 : Kazimierz Vélodrome. I felt like there wasn't enough French content in this mapset, so I just recreated (or, at least, emulated) the Marseilles Vélodrome Stadium. It's soccer time !

- MAP24 : Tomb Profaner. Don't you just love Mayan temples with obnoxious traps and dreadful amazing fights ? It's the quintessential Tomb Raider tribute, minus some of its jank. Mostly.

- MAP25 : The Umpteenth Circle. Oh, yeah, that one. It's circle-shaped and based in Hell, I guess... I hope you won't hate me too much for the ending of this map :(

 

As always, thanks for your consideration, and let's hope I can reach the final stretch of my mapset in a jiffy ! :O

I'm so happy to have reached completion on my very first megawad to boot, and I hope I can make more of these in a not-so-distant future. In the meantime, please enjoy and comment on my work as much as you want.

Hello there, fellow DOOMers !

 

Just a quick update to let you know that I've made some very marginal changes to MAP15 : I've fixed one of the Imp enemies being stuck to a Tall Blue Fire Torch, and made sure the normal exit behaves properly outside of source ports like GZDoom.

 

Many thanks to @Matacrat for finding out those issues while playing the mapset during a stream !

I love the design of the maps :) Difficulty is a bit high for me, but I really enjoy playing the maps and listening to the music.

 

The cyberdemon followed by revenants in a rather cramped area on Boneless Ventures was mean. The Cocaine Express was a pretty simple, but still fun train level. Castle Von Kruidnoken is just stunning visually and plays very well (mowing down hoardes of imps with the SSG never gets old ;). Got pretty lost at the end of Gandalf's Moonbase and had to look up where the exit is. In The Dreadful City it's a bit hard to figure out what each switch does (and there are quite a few of them), so I ended up running around the map a lot of times trying to remember what changed. DE_EGYPT.exe is a real gem. The texturing is great and each room feels different enough to not be boring.

 

I'll take a break now, but I'll surely finish these maps later. Thank you for making them :)

 

Edit: On map 29 there's a missing texture on linedef 12145. It looks very odd when you play the level. I also got stuck there as sector 3030 never lowers and it seems to be the only way out of that area.

Thank you so much for playing the whole mapset ! I'm currently working on a sequel to those speedmaps, so stay tuned eventually for another big release :D
