Dweller Dark Posted May 6, 2023 DOSDoom is apparently the first sourceport post-release of the source code, dating back to December 23rd, 1997 (the same day the source code released). ggiDoom is the second oldest (that I know of), being released December 24th, 1997. The BadMood sourceport seems to be the only one on the DoomWiki page dating further back than the source code release, but it was for the Atari Falcon 030. 2 Share this post Link to post

The weather must have been bad there. 1 hour ago, SilverMiner said: John Carmack This is almost the correct answer, because the MS-DOS version of Doom appeared later than the true original release, called NextDoom. 1 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted May 6, 2023 Would Bernd Kreimeier kinda count? He ported the source code to the version that was actually open-sourced... 1 Share this post Link to post
MissArgent Posted May 7, 2023 (edited) Not really a sourceport, but I need to break out the Pentium and play around with Gabe Newell's WinDOOM at some point. See how it compares to vanilla under DOS on my 486-50. 0 Share this post Link to post
