invictius Posted August 4, 2023 Come across heaps of printer ink and photo paper. Next to the family photos I was going to do floorplans of wads, empty level screenshots etc. Anyone else done this, or with similar art? 1 Share this post Link to post
RDETalus Posted August 4, 2023 (edited) Yes, I print out screenshots of my levels on glossy photo paper and leave them all over the house. It's a strong motivator to finish my levels. I also have an actual painting I've been working on, still trying to decide what wall texture I should use behind the skull head switch: 25 Share this post Link to post
aloysiusfreeman Posted August 4, 2023 Hey, that's pretty cool, @RDETalus I'd consider a print of either Doom/Doom 2 cover art, since those images have been engrained in my head for over two decades. I'd also like a print of the true beach ending of myhouse.wad, since that's lived rent free in my head. 1 Share this post Link to post

Bank Posted August 4, 2023 @RDETalus I love your printed screenshots, could be an amazing coffee table book! 1 Share this post Link to post

It's a more romantic, engaging way of appreciating your own levels compared to staring at them on a computer screen. I give the photos to my baby first so he bends and scratches them to imbue a vintage "aged" look. 2 Share this post Link to post
Major Arlene Posted August 5, 2023 I love the idea of an art book for mappers, I imagine you could make one on Snapfish or similar sites without too much trouble. would also be a really great way to journal map inspiration and mapping journey growth, kinda like a dev diary. 5 Share this post Link to post

BeachThunder Posted August 5, 2023 There's part of me that actually wants to print this out and have it on the wall: 9 Share this post Link to post

My wife has expressed interest a couple of times in printing and framing versions of the map layouts to Elementalism. I think she just really likes how they look. 3 Share this post Link to post
