thelamp Posted October 1 (edited) I've been having lots of fun with Decohack and MBF21 so I thought I'd share some stuff that I think could be useful for mappers looking to put some extra assets into their mapsets. Most of these so far are sort of demakes of stuff from The Magenta Spire. Removed the purple and in some cases made small changes. All of these include the DECOHACK code within the wad file so feel free to twist these into your own vision of malice. Any comments or suggestions are welcomed! Compilation 1.1 This contains all of the below for convenience sake! Have fun! The Gib Pile Spoiler This is the corpsepile sprite that didn't make the final cut of doom. It is destructible and revivable (into a Pain elemental) Imp Variants Spoiler Imps that lose their wings when damaged! Watch 'em drop to the ground helplessly. Also included is my concept of a "Big Imp" Baron Friends Spoiler Don't want to the player to rely on infighting? Still want to have some monster variety? This adds a couple more Hell Nobles to the mix! Duke of Hell sprite taken from The Rebirth Hell Squire sprite made by @ShallowB Self-Resurrecting Arch-vile Spoiler Sometimes he gets back up. If you want speedrunners to like you don't put this in your map. Although... if you crush him he stays down for sure Firey Hell Stuff Spoiler Breakable decorations that cause some damage! Dead Enemy Decorations that can be Resurrected Spoiler Exactly what it sounds like it is. So, these replace the regular dead monster decorations, die, and then they can be ressurrected by the archvile? Someone on youtube also asked about the killcount, how does this affect it? thelamp Posted October 7 (edited) The initially spawned monster that dies does not count toward the killcount. The mod works by Spawning a new monster that does count. This means these monsters will only effect the killcount after they have been raised. This way 100% kills is possible without having to res+rekill every one of them which isn't practical or fun. EDIT: I didn't want maps to start with the player having kills hence the initial monster not counting That video was recorded before I'd worked out exactly how to handle this so disregard the mechanic shown there. In the video they are simply not counted at all. Which tbh I was going to be fine with, but quickly after posting that video I got several comments talking about killcount so I came up with a solution. 0 Share this post Link to post

peido Posted October 10 Just finished watching clippy's video, and this looks awesome. Well done. Don't know if it's a good suggestion or not, but I liked the SpiderDemon with the magic restored by BeefGee (the magic does the same thing as the flames of the archvile) and the CyberDemon with BFG instead of rockets (with the green light on his body when he fires the BFG) also made by BeefGee. If asked, maybe he would like to see them in a bestiary like this. 1 Share this post Link to post
