Spongebob - an evil GIF behind an amazing cartoon

Recommended Posts

This is probably really controversial, but fraggle, in my opinion, is a very evil person.

Freedoom has a Discord server in which there's a really stupid rule about no memes, but that's not the problem here, the problem is that fraggle can't find a difference between a meme and a normal GIF.

In this post I would like to expose fraggle for admin abusing in the Freedoom Discord server.

Me and multiple other people are victims of fraggle's admin abuse. Today I wanna talk about one of them. I will not use names, so let's just call them anonymous.

Anonymous once posted this GIF and was timed out for 1 week, but luckily I got their timeout removed.

The GIF was the following: https://tenor.com/view/running-ahh-aa-spongebob-meme-gif-19928154

running-ahh.gif

The other time they posted a seemingly normal GIF as a response to one member being really rude to them, they got timed out for 1 week, again. This time they failed to remove it earlier, neither could I, because I was banned.

Before I tell my story, here's the GIF they posted: https://tenor.com/view/rude-jack-black-jumanji-jumanji-movie-gif-11210109

rude-jack-black.gif

Really stupid, innit?

Now it's time to tell my story.

My first ban was a false ban because somebody got hacked and spammed something before being kicked (or maybe banned), I was asked to tell them the steps to recover their account and invite them back, and so I did. Soon after, I was banned, but I managed to appeal. Then I got a 1 week long timeout for seemingly nothing. Not long after my timeout expired, I was banned for seemingly nothing again. After being a fairly big person for the server and all my contributions, I got banned just like this.

fraggle tried to lie that he really doesn't want to punish members, but then he just bans me for no reason. Also, fraggle blocked me without even trying to have a conversation with me, really childish behaviour.

This is seriously getting out of hand, everyone is starting to be against fraggle, and I don't know what's gonna happen in the future.

Why not just follow the rules? It's his Discord server, he sets the rules. Using a word like "evil" to describe one of the most principled people in the community is not earning any sympathy. It makes you sound like a jr. high school student with serious first-world problems. Memes are a waste of everybody's time and completely unnecessary to communicate on Discord. Go back to reddit if you want to do nothing but spam brain-numbing GIFs.

fraggle has actually started coming up with rules on a go, and he's quite literally open about that.

Oh dear, what will they do.

If this is the extent of your issue, PM Fraggle directly on Discord instead of taking the cheesy way out which is this DoomWorld thread.

Since we are talking about the same Fraggle who has done more enough to earn his spot in history and from my (limited) interactions is nothing but a good sports, this entire thread is completely in poor taste and on the level a kindergarten kid who is told no.

Sorry bub, but this thread fits this moniker.

Your story isn't interesting enough to tell a wider community. Ask yourself why you got banned in the first place. You say for seemingly nothing which tells me you don't know or understand why you got banned in the first place.

If this is the extent of your issue, PM Fraggle directly on Discord instead of taking the cheesy way out which is this DoomWorld thread. Or if that isn't possible, message him here on Doomworld in PM.

You call Fraggle a lot of names but you aren''t listening to Quasar's explanation.

If this is similar in proces to how your bans went, i have a inkling what the actual issue is.

Well I wouldn't say fraggle is a "evil" person, he is in the doom modding business for a while now so I'm assuming he is pretty old, in his late 30s I think.

Maybe that's the reason why he gets irritated when someone posts something humourous.

That means he just wants to work in peace without any trouble, Because according to him, if someone posts a gif, maybe just maybe it may lead to someone he doesn't like.

Congratulations for finding something even stupider to complain about than GZDoom's default settings. You successfully lowered the bar.

You realize how catty and foolish this thread is, right?

Honestly I don't see anything stupid about his complaint, if anything it's kind of disconcerning that Fraggle is abusing his admin powers on the Freedoom discord server. I mean it's one thing if the gifs they posted were in bad taste, but it's another thing entirely when Fraggle is seemingly acting in an abusive and authoritarian way, stifling free speech on the freedoom discord server, and pulling the rug right out from under innocent regulars by spontaneously changing the rules after the fact. This isn't good and shouldn't be encouraged. You could say that I'm pro free speech and Fraggle's behavior doesn't sit right with me.

Does this mean freedoom discord is 1984 😟

I hate to bring this up, but are we just going to ignore the evidence that rostuhan posted?

Evidence that somebody had 3 warnings to knock it off already and now there's rule lawyering over the difference between a "meme" and a "reaction GIF"? Unimpressed.

I'm sorry, but all of those warnings were quite unfair as well. fraggle's judgement isn't the best.

Average Discord user when they find out they’re not free to do whatever the fuck they want on someone else’s server:

I don't believe I'm crazy for being on rostuhan's side here. I want to ask you one question that I think you should ask yourself: When does 'nettiquette' stop being 'nettiquette' and start becoming stifling and chilling to free speech? I literally see nothing wrong with the reaction gifs he posted and personally think it's fine as long as they don't go overboard with it. People shouldn't have to feel like they are stepping through a minefield every time they want to talk to or chat with other people in a public place.

Everyone mentioned in this problem did NOT actually violate the rules.

Good description of the entire Freedoom server.

..and even if it's his server the onus is still on him to be fair and consistent with the rules and not do a rug pull like what he pulled on rostuhan.

@rostuhan: My advice at this point is to get all of your friends and anyone sympathetic to you and go start your own freedoom discord server, "with blackjack and hookers" as the old saying goes.

A little bit do you know that we have already made our own server already, and it has actual Freedoom of speech.

Free speech is a right to not have the government restrict what you can say. It has nothing to do with what's allowed in private spaces - which includes Discord servers. If I come into your house and start saying things you don't want to hear, you kick me out. How's a Discord server different from that? Arguments from "free speech" with respect to social media tend to be in bad faith with an aim to take over or repurpose an existing community.
