chungy Posted December 23, 2008 Just wondering what most people prefer.... Australian for me, they're just easier to cut and contain more bread. 0 Share this post Link to post

chungy Posted December 23, 2008 It's more evenly made, the bread isn't quite as dense, and it doesn't have any holes in it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Csonicgo Posted December 23, 2008 Why isn't there a choice for open source muffins? 0 Share this post Link to post
Creaphis Posted December 23, 2008 What the shitting dick nipples is an Australian muffin? Edit: Ah, alright. Apparently two posts were made while I wrote that. 0 Share this post Link to post
exp(x) Posted December 23, 2008 "Australian muffin" has less google results than my name in quotes. 0 Share this post Link to post
chungy Posted December 23, 2008 hmm, maybe they're not quite as common as I thought. I usually get them... right now I only have English muffins though, heh. 0 Share this post Link to post

All of my past e-embarrassments are digitally preserved for anyone to find. Needless to say, I'm a little more careful of what I do when using my full name. Also, fuck staying on topic! 0 Share this post Link to post
Dgon92 Posted December 23, 2008 I did a search on two of the most popular search engines on the topic and this is what I got. Google Results for English Muffins: 582,000 estimated search results. Yahoo Results for English Muffins: 2,360,000 estimated search results. Google Results for Australian Muffins: 129 search results. Yahoo Results for Australian Muffins: 133 search results. So, apparently, judging by the results, there is such a thing as an English Muffin, but no such thing as an Australian muffin, so this poll seems redundant. If there is, though, then there might as well be such a thing as a Mongolian muffin, a Samoan muffin, a Portuguese muffin, or a Vietnamese muffin. I tasted all of them, even the open source one that Csonicgo mentioned, and they were all delicious. Especially the open source one. Where can I get the recipe for that? 0 Share this post Link to post

Nuxius Posted December 23, 2008 I like regular old American muffins the best. :p English muffins are O.K., we use them over here on breakfast sandwiches and the like. Never heard of an Australian muffin; got a link or a picture? 0 Share this post Link to post

Google Results for Australian Muffins: 612,000 search results. I can't stand breakfast muffins but will kill for the chocolate choc-chip variety. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kyka Posted December 23, 2008 I've never heard of an "Australian muffin." And I live in Australia. Its just a case of "Australian muffins" being like "Australian cheese" or "Australian cars" It's just different coz its made here, rather than being a specific recipe or anything. Though I could be wrong. I've just never heard of such a thing. 0 Share this post Link to post

Lord_Z Posted December 23, 2008 I don't really like English muffins and I have never had an Australian muffin. 0 Share this post Link to post
AndrewB Posted December 23, 2008 I had half an english muffin with PB not 15 minutes ago. 0 Share this post Link to post

Sharessa Posted December 23, 2008 Don't you mean Australian toaster biscuits? I used to get those for a while when I was a kid. They were basically the same thing, but a more floury flavor. I think I like sourdough English muffins the best. 0 Share this post Link to post
r_rr Posted December 23, 2008 I've never tasted an Australian muff! Engrish muffins are a tasty treat. 0 Share this post Link to post
40oz Posted December 23, 2008 Austrailian muffin is probably a sexual inuendo. 0 Share this post Link to post
Maes Posted December 23, 2008 tubers93 said:What the fuck is an Australian muffin? The same thing as an English or American muffin, only baked by smiling, sun tanned guys with corked hats saying weird things like "G'day mate" and asking you some random stuff about putting some "shrimps on the barbie". Oh and sometimes they wear crocodile leather pants, too. Pretty much like irish bare knuckle boxing is just ...bare knuckle boxing performed by short, red haired, skinny guys wearing green. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kirby Posted December 23, 2008 Qué el jode es un "Australian Muffin"? 0 Share this post Link to post
Creaphis Posted December 23, 2008 MikeRS said:You can't, it's proprietary and protected under intellectual property laws. It's a shame that muffin isn't licensed under the GPL. Access to the recipe is well worth having to bring copies of the recipe and license printouts to every potluck. 0 Share this post Link to post
