CalavErik Posted October 11 I'm replaying Going Down on UV, but this time pistol starting. Last time about 3 years ago I got to around MAP20 or 21, I can't remember exactly, and I loved all that I played of it so I wanted to come back and do it properly this time. 1 Share this post Link to post
J83 Posted October 14 (edited) HELLBOUND (2013 HUN, Cacowards Runner-Up) maps (it is like Scorching Earth 2024 sans technical problems, sans HOMs/FPS drops), great lighting, great everything with Red Sector wad for custom MEDB enemies and Voyage Infernal wad for custom weapons 0 Share this post Link to post
Bendža M. Posted October 15 Last WAD I finished was Solar Struggle. Pretty good. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bugslide Posted October 15 I finished up Eviternity 2 on UV and it was as spectacular as I hoped. The entire project is ludicrously well polished. I can't wait for Eviternithree 5 years from now /j. I don't think I'll go back through on the new Annihilate Me difficulty for right now, but I might try it in the future. For now, I'm playing through the Micro-Slaughter Community Project on HMP. I quite like it! The short runtime of the maps feels great. 2-3 quick, punchy fights and then it's off to a new look and feel. I hope there ends up being more maps/projects that try out this "micro-slaughter" format. 0 Share this post Link to post
Goth Ichigo Posted October 17 Getting back into Doom for the first time in a very very long time so I'm starting simple with a replay of Doom II 0 Share this post Link to post

Zeal Posted October 20 In my search to record daily videos of my dooming progression, i stumbled upon 2 Wads while pressing the random button on Id Games Frontend: Slime.Wad: Early 2000's single map that's all about acid death pits and damaging floors. It isn't very remarkable but still serviceable enough for a wad of its time. It has one mandatory secret for progression, As far as i know, at least. The other one is a more recent release called The Enchanted Forest, also a single map for Doom. This one is set in a autumn-themed kind of magical forest with lots of doomcute splattered all around it. Combat is ok, but what really cut the deal for me was the progression. The map requires you to find 3 colored skulls in order to finish the map. The yellow skull was the only one i was able to find and all other playthrough of it fell short due to cryptic progression. I can't bother uploading a half-finished playthough, so i'll just link to the Doomworld thread: 3 Share this post Link to post
wheresthelambsauce Posted October 21 (edited) Doom Infinite if that counts. Also been playing through Scythe again in vanilla with pistol starting and single segment (definitely going to lift that restraint in map 30) Might play through TNT Revilution after as I tried out the first map and it seemed pretty neat. edit: Jesus, no way I was going to finish this in a single segment. vanilla_d00m Posted October 21 Eternal Slumber Party (Slaughter Wad) UV. Still stuck in the first level.. been 4 hours. It's way beyond Scythe 2, Speed Of Doom.. HR etc. I'm having fun though, very tough wad. 0 Share this post Link to post
Verna Posted October 21 (edited) I took a break after getting to map 6 of Ultimate Doom Episode 4 (Thy Flesh Consumed) on Nightmare. I re-started Doom 64 from the beginning by playing secret levels as well. 0 Share this post Link to post
Octavius Posted October 22 i'm just starting to play TNT: Evilution for the first time, and its been pretty fun. i think i'm in Map10, but i haven't been able to log on to check. 0 Share this post Link to post
Verna Posted October 24 (edited) I finished Doom 64 on Watch Me Die including all screet levels, fun levels and lost levels till map 40 for the first time yesterday. I am now playing Doom 64 Unseen Evil Mod with Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 0 Share this post Link to post
Verna Posted October 25 (edited) I finished Ultimate Doom, Doom 2 + Sigil 1 and Sigil 2 with Doom 64 Unseen Evil Mod. I am currently playing Plutonia Experiment with Doom 64 Unseen Evil Mod on Watch Me Die. Edit: I must say that Map 20 of Plutonia Experiment with Doom 64 Unseen Evil Mod looks so fantastic. And with Doom 64 Map 20 soundtrack, georgeous combination. I've just played the map. I'll do TNT Evolution with Doom 64 Unseen Evil Mod after Plutonia. Verna Posted October 27 (edited) I am currently playing Sigil 2 with Chest Quest 2 Wad on UV. Cacodemon, Cyberdemon and Spider Mastermind are unvisible which makes it much harder. I made it to the screet exist in map 3 with 14% Kills. I am now in map 9. Edited October 27 by Verna 0 Share this post Link to post
RHhe82 Posted October 27 Having completed Nostalgia Zero (which interjected itself onto my playlist; great CL3 wad!), I'm back to Community Chest 4 (on MAP08 now) and Dominus Diabolicus (on MAP13), which has been tragic victim of other pressing matters for long. 0 Share this post Link to post
Crusader No Regret Posted October 28 Got around to blowing through Ancient Aliens with Final Doomer. (Ancient Aliens weapon set, of course) Only Ep3 though as it's all I felt like revisiting. Trench knife is easier to use than vanilla fist which made map 19 less troublesome and the Illuminator came in handy for cleaning out a couple of congested spots which were more hassle when I played through with the default arsenal back in 2017. Did sort of miss the BFG as a nuke option for single archviles as the Illuminator's low ammo count and long windup delay (5 seconds or so) make it ill-suited to those types of situations. 0 Share this post Link to post

Heigou Posted October 31 Finished Valiant but have like 3 levels i wanna single segment UV Max i think 10/24/30. I managed the rest before. Map 30 will be easy i only died twice and saved before the boss because i didn't wanna wait for him to lower. Also started Ancient Aliens and at map 30/36 of ET2. ET2 really burnt me out doing mainly no saves but maps 14/15 broke me out of it and i didn't even do the guitar hero/map 33 yet. Doom is very fun but i've been burnt out lately. I need to break the mental of trying to blind uv max it drains the hell out of me and sometimes leads to just one or two maps being done in a few hours if they're hard maps. Practice runs are alot more enjoyable sometimes. Died like 10 times trying to get that single segment map 29 ET2 run mainly to the hell knight/necro fight getting caught and raging but did it with 1 death elsewhere on the practice run with saves. Sorry to blog. Ancient Aliens Valiant ET2 etc. For awhile i had no access to a PC and just this August i've been able to experience such master class gems. Before hand i was only able to play stuff like BTSX1/2 and such on the Unity ports which were my favorite for awhile. I still use a xbox pad unless i gotta strafe jump/SR50 1 Share this post Link to post
VoanHead Posted November 1 Well, turns out I could only do half of ad mortem this month as I was more occupied with my midterms. Oh well, I can at least savor the rest next year. Turns out, the Long Trek Home is actually pretty lengthy and I only got up to map 10 so far and I think I'll play DBP 34 and Mayan Reynolds to at least not get too burnt out on Long Trek Home. I was also thinking of beginning the Hispanic Community Project once I wrap up both of the smaller wads. 0 Share this post Link to post
xerox Posted November 1 Nostalgia Zero Just discovered this series and plan to play all installments. I'm currently on the first secret level E1M9. So far very good and true to the concept. 0 Share this post Link to post
Cutman 999 Posted November 1 I tried playing stickney installation a month ago, but since my lost my hard drive, I don't know, I just don't want to play it anymore. But today I started playing nostalgia zero, and since nostalgia 2 was the most fun I've ever had with an early megawad, I obviously had to give this a chance despite being an ultimate doom wad... And so far is pretty good, I left my play session on E2M5 0 Share this post Link to post
J83 Posted November 2 Speed of Doom 2010 megawad. tough combat even on ez, green vine levels w/ mid/dated lighting at the start, second half (hell) looks better/darker + adds horde to slaughter combat 0 Share this post Link to post
