I've done more, but not on a sheet.

I did a reshade of one of CaptainJ's snapshot sprites. I'm no Sonik.o.fan, but I like the end result. Top is the original, bottom is my edit. Feel free to use with appropiate credit (Svdl, CaptainJ, A.Gamma)

guys, i going to make sprite for game in firts person,but i couldnt find any general advice for that kind, i made before pixel art in 32x32, 48x48 for side-scroller type of game, but on my own i dont know a lot for first person pixel art, like which resolution, what a general rules for animation or any other difficulties,so if you can give advice, a link to a tutorial or any kind of study for that,Thanks in advance for any advise you can give me.

Which type of sprite? Weapon, Monster or a Decoration Sprite?

most likely everything (enviroment,main character,enemy,etc), but at the moment I'm going to make sprites for the main character (hands with weapon,portrait) and enemies

The scale of your sprites is mostly going to be up to you, and how detailed you want your graphics to be.  More pixels = more time to make, so if you're a beginner I would try not to be too ambitious.

 

A game in 3d has all the rotations as well, so it will take a lot more work than a sider-scroller, because you need so many more frames for items and characters.

 

If you go with the same basic resolution as Doom and similar games, you'll find a lot of resources already made for you (crates, trees, stone walls, etc...) so it would be a good idea to go with the same resolution.  It also lets you use a ready made sprite for reference (i.e. how tall is a guy?  How long are his arms?  Check the imp sprite!)

 

Everyone here uses the same sort of sprites, so you'll get a lot of advice similar to that on this forum - and it's good advice!  But it helps to be open to other ideas too if you want something that's not so much like Doom and its progeny.

it's a good idea to use doom's sprites and similar as starting point of study,I didn't even think about it,but about the same resolution, for me its more about the same proportions as doom(or similar to doom),that does not mean same level of detail in sprite, thanks for reply

Turned it into a pump action something. Is it a shotgun? A grenade launcher? Who knows, it's chunky.

Next experiment for Blender. Though colors are constantly in flux.
Edit, Crude creation is rigged and semi functional. Might be the last humanoid i work on, and make the next one more of a body horror monster.

These look great! Are you rendering these with an orthogonal or perspective camera? I'm using the paranoia2 model viewer so all of my model captures are perspective

I use perspective as well, anchored to a circle with 2 lights. That way to get the different angles i just need to rotate the circle 45 degrees and capture the next series of animations.

I think Xim's Doom 3 mod had zombies that used wrenches as weapons perhaps I could have them drop this?

You might lift the angle of a wrench a bit, so that would look more natural.
