Not sure where should I post this, so I'm gonna do it here.

I didn't make this, I'm just asking what wad this zombie dog sprite comes from, I don't remember anymore and have been sitting there in my folder for a while.

It's a simple rework of the standard MBF helper dog to make it more zombie-plagued like.

I think it still needs some adjustment here and there, maybe I'll try to polish it a bit one day

 

Oh, glad to remember it!

Hope it can maybe get another use through Realm667 bestiary once the sprites are polished

Dude, that's a really cool design. If hope you keep at it and eventually finish this bad boy. Just start on a side frame - any monster sprite will take a fair bit of work to finish, which can be daunting, but if you can put a little work in from time to time the results pile up fast, and next thing you know you're just filling in the missing pieces. Just don't think about the whole project at once and tackle it bit by bit.

The biggest problem is blending the middle

i ported the 48 dredge from black ops 3 into doom, converted to doom graphics :3

It all looks pretty good to me, but with just a front frame it's hard to tell what the shape is.

 

The horns are cool, so is the brain and the eyeball.  The spikes and the fringe on the bottom are distinctive with clear silhouette, and tentacles are always a win.

 

I'm not even looking at the middle.  All you need to do is fill it in, cause my attention is drawn to the details.  Save yourself some work and put as little into the middle as possible. If anything is needed it will reveal itself as you go.

 

If I have any suggestion, it would just be to add more tentacles!  They are easy cause they look the same at all angles, simple to copy and paste, and they are easy to animate into an action pose.

 

It's a solid design. You deserve to be the one to make all the decisions on it, and you deserve to be the one to take all the credit once it's gtg.  🫡

Was working on the HexenZombie revamp, and fiddling with a variant head for a possible chunkier boi, and realized that my designs were slowly just turning into tyranids.

shotgun sprites traced from hellrider's over-under kaboomie-go-bye-bye-inator 9000 (a.k.a super shotgun) for bunker 88, might never use them though but i like the shading for the hand weirdly enough, probably the first time i've ever done shading :D

 

was gonna call it like the demonkiller shotgun or damascus devil or the lawbringer or something idfk but damn do i like it! looks actually half decent!

Well if it's based off the pain elemental, I would say it would be a good Idea to give it a decently sized maw like the rest of the meatball family, if you want a more grandiose pain lord. But I could be wrong, considering your sprite indicates that this thing may be built like an alien mothership, so Burgish's suggestion may be better. Nevertheless, that's a pretty great looking monster already, reminds me of the aracnorb queen, but a little more vile.

Ok, now that I know your design goal, I would suggest a mix, give it a large, bony maw, and increase the amount of tentacles to look almost beard like. plus, try adding some lost soul or SP_FACE1 like faces underneath it's skin, if you want one rotten, eldritch, and rather frightening boss. Btw, what plans do you have for the monster?
