People played it of course. What did you think of it?

I want to say this. It's not Doom, but it is a very good first person shooter on its own. Had this been called something else, it would have been received better by people. It could have been its own series alongside Wolfenstein and Doom. Definitely get Doom 3.

X1 is too easy. X2 and X3 are more challenging, as well as the weapons in those two being more useful. Plus being able to play as Zero in X3 was really cool. Ah, and the gameplay mechanics in X2 and 3 are very fun.

Hello. I'm wondering, why did id name this entry Doom and not have 4 in it? My mind is saying that they probably wanted fans to forget about the original game, but I don't believe it. Doom 1 is called Ultimate Doom, so it removes the confusion, but searching up Doom on browsers may not just bring someone to the original game.

Doom 3 is slow paced and more horror focused, while Quake 4 is fast paced and more action focused. They're still very similar though, from mechanics to the style.

Interesting. I'll try that out.

Is there a mod that makes the graphics lower? Or something to remove the extra lighting effects?

List FPS Games That Are Better Than Duke Nukem Forever
Zero Denied posted a topic in Everything Else
Let's put in first person shooters that are better than DNF. I can think of some. Quake 4 is way better than DNF. Doom 3 is also better. Even Daikatana when patched on PC is better than DNF. Halo 4 is better than DNF. Let's see...Quake 1 is a lot better than that game. Oh, and HL2 is better. S.I.N is another one. I'll put in the Shadow Warrior Reboot too. How about Blood 2? While it's DLC, I consider The Doctor Who Cloned Me better than the base game itself. -
Quake 1 and 2 had actual single player campaigns with great multiplayer, but Quake 3 ditched the traditional single player and went with bot matches instead. That's a real let down. Quake 3 would have been perfect if it had a single player campaign reminiscent of Quake 1 and 2.

Why Was Quake 3 Arena Multiplayer Only?
Zero Denied replied to Zero Denied's topic in Everything Else
Quake 3's intro was ahead of its time. The CGI there was very advanced. Quake 4 came close to being Quake 3 with an actual single player campaign, but the gameplay in that is not fully Quake, and the level design is linear. Better than having the single player be a bunch of bot matches though. -
What's your favorite armor in the Doom series? Mine is Doom 3's.

I was talking about Randy Scott you goof. I even mentioned 3DO Doom, which that guy was put in charge of. Not the other Randy. Although I think your reply may have been a joke.

Oh whoops, I thought this was to make the Jaguar version better. My mistake.

Doom Engine games have different automap colors obviously, and thanks to source ports you can choose which one to use from the automap options menu. You can even customize the automap if you wish. Which one (s) do you like? Custom ones and Doom 64's automap count. I like the Strife automap, and I also like to set up a custom one.

What are some common mistakes that just completely spoil a map?
Zero Denied replied to Ashurion Neonix's topic in Doom General Discussion
Secrets that aren't really secrets. -
Maybe make the pistol like Duke Nukem 3D's and the gatling being what you said. Maybe give the pistol its own ammo pool?

Doom II, Heretic, and Hexen promo shots from Interactive Entertainment magazine
Zero Denied replied to Revenant's topic in Doom General Discussion
From the Hexen screenshots, the level design seemed reminiscent of Wolfenstein 3D. Back when Hexen was planned to be called Heretic 2: Hexen. -
the doom community is not the same anymore.

Skulltag has bots. Something I don't like is being forced to use openGL. Or at least telling me to use it. -
Why i hate using source ports
Zero Denied replied to Kebab_Hill12's topic in Doom General Discussion
Mind I suggest Skulltag/Zandronum? Doesn't demand as much as GZ, and it has great multiplayer. -

Skulltag is still the best Doom source port. -
List FPS Games That Are Better Than Duke Nukem Forever
Zero Denied replied to Zero Denied's topic in Everything Else
It's something I thought in my mind. After playing the game I felt like I was tortured when I proceeded further. There's better shooters than it. -
Have there not been deadlines (also choosing the wrong person to handle the port (Randy) ) or odd choices, the 3DO and Saturn versions respectively would have been excellent ports.

I'll go with Quake 4. Of course I'm a Quake guy, but both series' are great. Quake 4 has fast paced action with great weapons and enemies. Wish it had the non-linear level design of past Quakes though and that the running speed at the start wasn't low. Also, reloading in Quake? Why? Another thing. The awesome Gatling gun from Quake 2 was replaced by a Nailgun, which doesn't make sense considering that Quake 4 is a sequel to Quake 2. The Strogg having Nailguns is odd. I know it's a reference and/or callback to Quake 1, but...
