  1. After I finished making F.O.B there was a couple dudes who said they would love to see me make another vanilla compatible wad. Well here is your answer, Unholy Schism! Unholy Schism is going to be a 15-map Doom 2 wad which will utilize some custom DeHacked stuff. All of this is very early development stuff right now so I don't even have any actual maps completed. This wad is going to hit a very specific aesthetic that I wanted to try out. I really like black metal bands of the 80's and 90's. Bands like Venom, Bathory, Gorgoroth, Darkthrone, and Immortal, to name a few. It's not just the music I like but also the black and white over exposed look of some of the album covers. It is this over exposed monochrome look that I am going for with Unholy Schism. Right now I am currently working on custom content like the textures, sprites, etc. I want to get the custom content out of the way first before making any maps. That being said, don't think for one second that I would make this thread and not give you guys a sneak peak! PREVIEW:

  4. Thanks for all the feedback you handsome devils! I put it all in a .txt file and I'll be making changes in the coming days. I'll be sure to replace the download link with an updated zip file when I complete the changes. Also, I did test my wad with GZDoom and Zandronum, that could be why the Hall of Mirrors effect happens in certain areas? Anyways, thank you all very much for the playtesting, I'll be making these changes ASAP.

    Do people actually PLAY the mods or maps you make?

    Some people play my wads, not a lot of people mind you, but honestly even if just one dude or chick plays my wads I'm a happy man. I'm sure there are things I could do to get my wads some more attention. I don't really participate in the doom community all that often and I don't really post on the forums that much either. I'm sure if I was more of an active participant in the community then my name would get around more and my wads would probably get more eyes on them. If I made my wads co-op compatible as well then more people could/would play them. I even considered going back to F.O.B and making some changes to make it co-op. At some point I'd like to participate in a community project and make some maps. All in all though I'm content with being a little guy. As long as someone enjoys my work that's all I care about.

  9. FRONGO (Version 2.2) IS NOW ON IDGAMES AND DOOMSHACK, WHOOOOOOOOOO! Oddly enough though, when I went to upload frongo.zip to doom.dogsoft.net there was already a file called frongo.zip uploaded with the downloads disabled on it. Now maybe this is just a coincidence, but frongo.zip was uploaded to dogsoft on 01-27-24 21:39:05. Heres the thing though. Unless I'm having an old-person moment right now, I have NO recollection of uploading my megawad to dogsoft. Maybe this is just a coincidence and there's another wad out there that's also called frongo. I'll never know though since downloads are disabled on the file.
  10. FRONGO (Version 2.2) Has been released! We updated some things and I also started uploading to the idgames archive. FRONGO is currently on the incoming list and I'm just waiting for the verification email and then hopefully it gets approved.
  11. Burktross and I have found some issues with FRONGO and we have fixed them. After we playtest FRONGO we'll go ahead and release FRONGO v2.1 with some update notes on what changed. See you all then!
  12. Welcome one and all to this here Deathmatch megawad! FRONGO : The Realms of Deathmatch is a 32-map Deathmatch megawad created through the collaborative effort of two best friends, MannerKing and Burktross. This wad was started in 2020 and was worked on off-and-on since then. We got the idea to create FRONGO when we and another friend of ours were playing the DWANGO wads for the first time. We thought those wads were such a blast that we should make our own megawad inspired by the DWANGO wads. The name FRONGO comes from the name of our clan combined with the -ngo part of DWANGO. 32 Maps of Deathmatch goodness await you and your friends, I hope you all enjoy this wad! ============================== DETAILS: ! I WILL EVENTUALLY UPLOAD FRONGO TO IDGAMES AND OTHER SITES BUT I WANT TO MAKE SURE THE WAD IS IN ITS FINAL FORM BEFORE I DO SO. ! FRONGO was created in the Boom: Doom2(Doom format) using Ultimate Doom Builder. There are 32 maps in total starting with MAP01 and ending with MAP32. All the maps with the exception of MAP31 are original levels. MAP31 is an edited version of DWANGO5.wad's bestdml1 #14 map. If I recall, all we really did was add some health pickups and shotguns. Custom content such as music and textures have been credited to the best of our ability in the credits.txt file. I managed to credit most of the music but there are some songs that we just simply forgot the names of. If anyone can remember a song that I did not credit then be sure to tell me so I can add it to the credits.txt file. In terms of specific settings or rules, I tested FRONGO with Odamex, ZDaemon, and Zandronum with no issue.   14. It's been a while, so much for keeping your guys updated! I've been working on Hermeticism off and on since December of 2023. Hermeticism is a 9-Map wad for Heretic that replaces Episode 1. This wad is a Single-Player wad with Co-op player spawns so you can play with your friends. The original plan for this wad was to be a vanilla compatible Heretic wad, however, I changed my mind as I was making E1M2. I wanted to add more detail and doom-cute to the wad and obviously you need a limit-removing source port to be able to handle all that detail. This is my first time making a Heretic wad, and I honestly really enjoyed the process of making these maps. I definitely need to get better when it comes to enemy placement and usage. I find that there are several instances where monsters will in-fight because they hit each other with their attacks. Also, I decided to use the Doom mapping format instead of something like UDMF, why did I do this? The reason for this is because I was already using the Doom format and I was afraid that if I switched to a different mapping format that my maps would get messed up some how. The obvious downside of mapping with Doom format is that I do not have access to the Script Editor. Therefore, you will notice that Boss fights are rather primitive in how they work. Boss fights will take place in an arena. This arena will have a sector leading to an exit that will either lower or raise from a long distance, giving you time to fight the Boss before the exit opens up. The downside of this is that sometimes the exit may open up before you have finished fighting the Boss. Other than a few quirks like that, the wad was a blast to make and play.
